And maybe that is it, sjm, maybe Rumpel has visions or something and doesn’t really know all of the future. There just seems to be so much that he doesn’t know. And we haven’t seen him having any sort of vision. We have only seen him knowing things. And i think everything we have seen him know he could know other ways then the need for visions or a crystal ball or something.

I think that he could have known it was Emma’s birthday. But i agree that more likely it was just meant to be that day. And that the course of events that lead to that moment were just set in motion though i still don’t want them to be set in motion by Rumpel.

So, that is what leads me to believe he doesn’t always see the future, but he already knows an outcome and plays with the “pieces” along the way to glean his information. But I think that knowing the outcome is the future he can find out, but perhaps finding that out costs him something. So, its kind a combination of views. Does any of that make sense?

I think the difference i see is that Rumpel isn’t seeing the future so much as causing the future to happen. Like he wants a certain outcome. Like he wanted the Fairy Godmother’s wand she he made a deal with King George for the information to find the wand. I think he caused that to happen, but didn’t see that. Like he didn’t know where the Fairy Godmother was so he had to do a deal with George to find her.
