Hmm, I hadn’t thought about this. We know that Pinnoc was at least mentioned in the book because we saw him in the pilot with Gepetto. So whoever wrote the book knew that he at least existed in FTL. As to why his story wasn’t included, it could be no one knew it. Other than the Blue Fairy and Jiminy, how many people knew that Gepetto had a puppet that was turned into a real boy? Or, perhaps the story wasn’t included because at the time of writing the book, someone thought the story wouldn’t be important to Emma knowing about the curse (assuming they knew nothing about Pinnoc going through the wardrobe as well).
