So maybe the whole of the EF was transported to the real world and it’s all under an illusion just like peoples’ memories? That would be a possible theory. I’d hate to think nothing was transported and it’s all an illusion but still in the EF.
However, several characters have mentioned wanting to leave SB and go to Boston…but that’s the only place they want to go. SB is in Maine, so why not Augusta? Or any other New England city? Or even Nova Scotia?
Also, if the EF is just one realm of the FTL, were others affected and transported too? Are they in SB or are they in neighboring communities? In SB, we’ve mainly seen the Perrault/Grimm fairy tales (with the exception of Pinocchio). Could there be ‘sister towns’ to SB, involving Anderson tales, Agrabah, Wonderland, etc?
Also, something else to consider – with the exception of Jefferson who apparently is a resident of the EF who goes to Wonderland, one character is from elsewhere and that’s the Genie who becomes trapped in the mirror and who’s from Agrabah. Other possible non-native EF residents would be Pinocchio, Gepetto, and Jiminy as “Pinocchio” is not a classic fairy tale. The whale may have brought Pinocchio and Gepetto to EF with Jiminy following. Just a thought.
Expect the unexpected, Accepted the unaccepted.
I think the writers only use Boston as a reference because it’s easier for someone from outside the US – like myself! – to recognize it. Not that people don’t know anywhere else in the US, but it makes it simpler, you know…
Also, I believe only August, Emma and Henry have been somewhere else, the rest can’t leave SB, isn’t it?
I’m still trying to figure out SB – the people being transported is ok, but the artefacts and things, what has being transported what has not??… For know, I think it’s a town in our world “created” by the curse. Maybe just former EFpeople can see it or be there or something much like those Harry Potter places, where you can only see when someone tells you about it.
And about Jefferson, I still think he went to SB, even though he was trapped in Wonderland, because he was originally from EF. I’m starting to think that Wonderland is used as some kind of a different dimension prison, and because of it, Jefferson was trapped in his house and etc.
