I wouldn’t mind Daniel in the present so much if he was like a ghost haunting Regina or in a dream sequence but I wouldn’t want him brought back to life. His death is what motivates Regina against Snow, him being alive would make Regina unnecessary. Regina’s redemption should come with her letting go of the past and moving on with her life.
