We don’t know whether or not anyone in FTL history attempted to recharge magic. Maybe they did, and failed. But I don’t think that needed to be shown. We can just assume it wasn’t possible, because if it was, Blue would have been going around recharging stuff left, right and centre, instead of being bummed about having a limited resource of magic left in the world.

Also, if that was possible in the past, well, we’d have no show. So I’m happy to just accept that it wasn’t ever a viable option in the past, and that in the present day, Snow was merely grasping at straws to find a way back to SB.

I already agree with that as you’ve just repeated most of what I pointed out in my 1st post as reasons why I didn’t like how they had handled it. Nor did I say we needed to be shown- I said a single sentence would have ‘explained’ it away.

Snow grasping at straws- as I stated before, would have been fine had a single sentence been included in the dialogue somewhere- otherwise, honestly she seems to be a bit of an idiot considering she had mths/yr to come up with alternative plans for the whole ‘only 1 can go through’ curse problem- which she herself said she didn’t want to go through with – (Charming also said she was the one who “ran” the kingdom (aka the brains of the pair), he was the “sword”). How they did it doesn’t fit her character as they’ve portrayed her in the past in my opinion, so I don’t like it.

It also feels like they used the wardrobe as an excuse to get Emma & Snow to their home/castle- They could have gone looking for magic or fairy dust to make their own portal, have gone to try find another enchanted tree/object, see if they could find another realm jumper etc- none of which is “sitting on their arses or wandering aimlessly hoping to stumble on a working portal by chance” as you so eloquently put it 🙄 . All would have also made far more sense than bringing up recharging magic for the reasons we’ve both stated & that is where I have the problem– they could have had to have gone near the castle on their mission to find a way home & so camped there overnight, which would have allowed the castle scenes to take place as well.

I do understand what you’ve said & even tried to see it from your perspective- I did after all state if they had included a ‘tell’ sentence with-in the dialogue, I would agree with you & not have an issue with it, but they didn’t & nothing you’ve said has convinced me otherwise, I simply see it differently than you do 🙂

We don’t have to agree- it’s human nature that we don’t all think & feel about everything the exact same way- after all ‘ask 10 different people to describe the exact same image & you’ll get 10 different answers’ 😉 Everyone is entitled to their own opinion & the only expectation is those opinions be respected, whether we agree with them or not 🙂
