They would have been even more suspicious of her, having 20 grand sent to her in the mail. According to the official podcast August just used the money to fund his little getaway to Phuket so no he wasn’t doing anything noble by taking away the money. It wasn’t to help her that he kept the money from her it was for his own selfish reasons.
