I think the card was a reference to Wonderland, and Jeff knew who ditched him there.
If they do make Regina Alice, then Jeff would also know who left the card due to their adventures in Wonderland.
Good thinking, medchen! I had just assumed the rabbit was one of the people in SB, maybe the old guy with the carrot lol.
As for Rumple being the Cheshire cat it does fit with him. But he also told Jefferson that Wonderland was useless to him and that was way before Alice ever got there, since she met the Mad Hatter.
I could see Rumple traveling there though to meet Alice, perhaps he wants to know how she got to Wonderland from our world so he could use the same way to get here.
