Not sure playing her will work–Belle has enough experience with him to know he is not to be trusted. She may not know that he tried to kill her, but she knows he is not patient ofr good at all. The only person he managed to fool was Princess Aurora, and even then it wasn’t easy–plus, he had her heart, so that must have helped him a bit.
I know Captain Hook has a habit of trying to win people over, but it doesn’t seem to work. 😆 He smiles and flirts, but almost no one seems really interested. Emma ending up chaining him and leaving him behind. And with Cora, he had to prove himself to her before she could trust him again.
With him holding the gun to Belle, I can’t help but think of her as bait. I don’t think his aim is to kill Belle–all of his effort has been focused on Rumpelstiltskin.
I know killing someone’s True Love is the worst thing you can do to someone, but I don’t see him actually killing her–just holding her hostage. Simply because his whole goal has been to kill Rumpelstiltskin–that is what he knew, that is why he went to Neverland, that is what he swore to Rumpelstiltskin. “Even demons can be killed. I will find a way.”
