New pictures confirm that August does indeed become a little boy again.
I like the idea that this is the ONLY way to save August and that it’s specific to him. A lot of people on tumblr are freaking out that now it can be done to any and all of the characters, but let’s keep in mind that this is probably August’s wish. Baelfire and/or Emma won’t take this same option. I think it’s actually a very intriguing plot development which raises all sorts of questions like, if you could start your life all over again, would you? Sure, Emma and Bae have had a lot of pain to deal with, but they also found love with each other and had Henry. There are lots of very interesting thoughts that come from this.

many would think that Geppetto doesn’t deserve to get those years back with Pinocchio either. Geppetto caught a fair bit of hate for the business with putting Pinocchio through the tree, so I can see all of those fans being very annoyed if he gets to go back to the start and have the life he always wanted with his son.
Despite the Charmings’ pain over having missed out on Emma’s childhood, they’re not the types to hold it against Geppetto and would still want him to have his happiness with Pinocchio.
The Charmings might not hold a grudge against Geppetto, but I daresay a lot of fans do, judging by comments I read after that ep aired. Poor guy copped a decent amount of hate. So I can see all of those fans being none too pleased if Geppetto gets his 2nd chance with his son. So the people who love August will hate that he’s not around any more, and the people who don’t love Geppetto will hate the plot point too. That’s a whole lotta fanbase they could potentially get offside if they make Pinocchio a kid again. I’ll reserve final judgement until I see what actually happens and how it’s done, but as of right now, I’m somehwat apprehensive.
I know a lot of fans may not like this development, but I can’t hold it against Geppetto for wanting to save his son the way the Charmings wanted to save Emma. And a lot of fans who love Robert Carlyle and Lana Parilla don’t hate Rumple for destroying almost all of the EF so he could find Baelfire or Regina for gaslighting Henry so she could keep the dark curse in tact. If fans can forgive these villains for their horrible, earth-shattering deeds, I’d hope the fan base could forgive Geppetto for telling a lie protect his son.
