I’m a pretty big believer in Nealfire Pan, but you’ve laid out some interesting ideas. Some thoughts:
Killian Jones, or HOOK, has a mysterious past we don’t know about yet. The real Hook’s name is James (or Jess) Hook. Why Killian for OUAT? I think that will be addressed. So I think this could be reason to believe that this isn’t the first, or original, Hook we know from the stories.
I am very curious about is past as well. Did he come to Neverland as a young boy or as the age he is now. As to his name: they couldn’t use James since that is David’s twin brother, but I think Killian is more for Colin who is Irish. But, the way you’re theorizing him, he does sound a bit like The Dread Pirate Roberts http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dread_Pirate_Roberts from the Princess Bride where one Roberts retires and another takes his place. They’ve a couple of different models for this Hook: the original Hook obviously, maybe the Dread Pirate Roberts, and Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow.
Hook is supposed to be an old man, but in OUAT he’s a dashing not quite middle-aged man. He has a Pan-like charm about him. While the Hook we are seeing could just be the way the writers chose to adapt him, I’m thinking there’s more to it.
That is very true, but I have wonder if that’s because Colin brings in the ladies. He is quite beautiful and the trend in Hollywood seems to be casting young gorgeous men as pirate anti-heroes. Jack Sparrow and then Will Turner spring to mind.
What if Baelfire went to Neverland, became a lost boys, and helped Peter Pan and the Lost boys take over the pirates and become the new crew of the Jolly Roger. This would explain how Baelfire knows about ships and even possibly Hook’s sentimental remarks about the Lost Boys in the episode Tallahassee.
If this is true, I wouldn’t be disappointed although I do think Nealfire is Pan. I more belive that Hook isn’t the devil we know him to be in the books/movies but actually fathered Nealfire while he was in Neverland and that is going to cause a huge strain on Rumple and Bae’s relationship.
