One of Peter Pan’s main characteristics is that he was a 14 yr old boy.
Hook was already an adult when he went to Neverland.I’m well aware that K&H put their own twist on the stories, but, to change “who” Peter Pan was and what such an iconic character was written to represent would be a stretch, even for these guys.
Well it could be that Killian has gone to Neverland before the whole Milah ordeal which to me was the case in the crocodile. As a child he went to Neverland, became Peter Pan spent time there with his crew of lost boys, then they all left Neverland met Milah the whole ordeal with rumple happened and then he returned to Neverland this time as Captain Hook.
They said we would come to find out how Killian jones became a pirate captain at such a young age which I think goes hand in hand with the theory because pan became captain of the Jolly Roger at a young age.
