Wait, isn’t it possible that August put the story about Bae in at the same time he added his own story? All we know is that the picture of Bae is there at the time of S,B,&T. We don’t know it was in the book before that point. Does Henry comment on Pinnochio’s story increasing? I kind of thought he was less worried about the book, and more on getting Emma to believe at that point in time, so he might not have noticed if there were stories he hadn’t seen yet.
From memory, he comments on Pinocchio’s story being added, because it hadn’t been there before. I love the idea that August added Bae’s story, (part of it at least) at the same time. It would make sense, if he was trying to drop little hints.
In any case–whether August read about Bae in the book begs one question–when did he do that? Because far as we know, he had not yet been to SB when he cornered Neal in the alley. So there has to be more story here, either August came to town on a previous trip before finding Emma, or someone else told him about Bae, or he knew him becasuse he met him. I really like the idea that he is on the run from the HO. It would lead to better in-story reasons for why August felt it so necessary to separate Neal and Emma.
August being an agent of THO is what makes the most sense to me. If THO has connections to PP, then they would have known about Nealfire. As a kid, August would have talked about the magical land he’d come from, and we know that THO recruits kids like that because it’s what happened with Owen. So THO gave August the mission to break up SwanFire, then August ran off to Phuket, and 10 years later, THO sent Tamara to help coax him back. And all of it was part of PP’s plan to get his claws into Henry.

He may have come to SB before Tallahassee and that’s how he knew Jefferson?
Given that they cut the scene with Jefferson and August, and have never dropped any hints on the show since that there was a connection between them, I’m assuming that those two knowing each other was a plot point they changed their minds about. If it was something they wanted known by viewers, because it was gonna be canon at some point, they’d have included that cut scene on the DVD.

remember Regina thought she saw August before
Personally, I just think they dropped that line in there as a hint to the viewers that August was gonna be a fairytale character. That was reinforced by Emma’s line, “He must be one of the untold millions you cursed.” I doubt they meant it to be interpreted as August having been to SB before. In fact, everything they have since shown us about August’s movements confirms that he can’t have been in SB before.
They showed us Nealfire giving August a huge wad of cash. They then showed Emma in jail, getting a package from August that was sent from Phuket. When we saw August in Phuket, he seemed pretty at home there. Lounging around in bed with a beautiful woman in a tropical paradise. And he was speaking the language, suggesting he’d been there for some time. He was loving Phuket for 10 years, and the only reason he left was because he was forced to by his changing leg. We then saw him speaking to Nealfire in NYC when he was on his way to SB, which then connects up to the first time we saw him roll into town and meet Emma and Henry in the street. Therefore, he can’t have been involved in the adoption, and can’t have been in SB at a previous time for Regina to have seen him.

Question: Wasn’t it the BF that gave the book to Snow, I can’t remember ❓
We do not know where Snow got the book from.
Rumpelstiltskin: Tsk tsk. The infant is our only hope. Get the child to safety. Get the child to safety and on its twenty-eighth birthday, the child will return. The child will find you and a final battle will begin.
Rumble lied didn’t he, I wonder what else he lied about.
What are you suggesting is a lie in that quote? Their child did find them. And as for the “final battle”, fans have debated what that could have been referring to and whether or not we’ve seen the start of it yet. It was a vague comment, but then, we’ve since learned that Rumple’s visions of the future can be vague, so he could have meant almost anything, including things we’ve already seen happen in SB, so it’s not a line I get too hung up on trying to decipher.
