How will they rescue Henry on Once Upon a Time? —Jennie
NATALIE: Snow White and Prince Charming will find themselves trying to set a good and noble example for their daughter Emma when they head to Neverland, lest she turn to other means to get Henry back. “If the Queen’s got a better way to get Henry that may break the law, so be it. It’s prison rules,” says executive producer Adam Horowitz. That will be difficult for Snow, who is still struggling with her blackened heart. “This year, it’s about finding the hope,” he adds. “It’s the hope that Snow White always brought to us. She’s the light. I think she’s going to see a lot of darkness and realize that the best thing she can do is return the light to not just her, but to get daughter and her husband.”

With Rumple, Regina, and Hook on the ship, Emma might be tempted go dark if it increases her chances of getting Henry back! I do predict more magic lessons for her at the least. I’m curious how magic will work in Neverland.

Lots if interesting ideas here to mull over! Is Emma the most magical being? I don’t think it’s been shown definitively yet whether Emma has stronger magic than Rumple. Yes, she was able to defy Cora’s dark magic with her care-bear stare in the EF and she was able to counter the fail safe when Regina couldn’t on her own. Yet, Rumple is arguably more powerful than either Cora or Regina, which is why they wanted to kill him and take his power. Cora coveted being the next dark one, presumably because it would grant her untold magic that she still lacked. So, I’m inclined to think that even if Emma were trained in magic making she still might struggle against Rumple’s dark magic. Nevertheless, Emma might just surprise everyone and turn out to be the most magical since she is True Love Incarnate which is the most powerful magic of all.
That leads me to wonder if Emma even could go dark, even if she were tempted. Does being true love incarnate, which seems to be the ultimate form of good magic, somehow preclude Emma from doing dark magic? Dark magic seems to be based on curses. Yet true love magic breaks curses. So it seems like anytime Emma would go to cast a curse that her own true love magic would override the attempt and just break whatever curse she were trying to make.

August 1, 2013 at 9:21 am #202781RumplesGirlKeymasterI don’t think Emma would ever go dark, but I do think she would be heavily tempted. Darkness is easier and she is a mother looking for a her child. If Dark Magic would speed up the process, what mother wouldn’t? Heck, look at Rumple! Our main defense for a lot of things he has done is: he’s a parent looking for a lost child, what wouldn’t a father do? We have darker sides of love: Cora and Rumple, for instance, where love didn’t bring out the best in them per se, but they still loved each other. So I think it is possible for Emma to go Dark, I just don’t think she will because the main theme of the show is love and hope and for TL incarnate to go dark…that’s pretty hopeless.
