If they’re going to put them together in the future, I think it’d be really good to see them interacting in SB past when he was cursed.

Regina never had a genuine relationship with anyone during the cursed years. However she treated people, good or bad, it was only ever truly one sided. Even if she was giving the relationship her all, like when she went about destroying Snow, she was still really the only one properly invested in the relationship because she was the only one who was actually aware. Fair to say that since everyone remembered, and she has been engaging in genuine relationships, none of them have been overwhelmingly positive.

They could show the flipside of that by putting her with someone who was cursed. They could show the one sided relationship they had, (and by “relationship” I just mean, if they ran into each other one time and had a conversation, I’m not suggesting they were involved during the cursed years), and then show how that relationship can now progress in a positive way for her, as opposed to how it usually goes.

No matter who they put her with, if it’s someone who she interacted with while they were cursed, it provides for a different type of storyline for Regina to learn from and grow through. And if there’s one thing we can agree on, hopefully it’s that we don’t need another season of Regina being stuck and struggling in the same state she was in S2. Not necessarily because we love her and think she should get to be all smiley for a change, but because it’d bog the show down if her character doesn’t actually progress.
