Reply To: How does Bae communicate to the others

This may not be accurate, but I’m sure I’ve seen mention before that the Ruby Slippers are copyrighted to the studio that made the movie? They were originally silver in the books, changed to red for the movie so they’d stand out.

I once heard that others could have the shoes be red but they could not refer to them as “Ruby Slippers” perhaps calling them Red Shoes, though idk how true that is legally.

For example, in Disney’s Oz movie, the east witch, Evanora has an emerald necklace that gives her her powers and her sister, my profile pic 🙂  has a ruby ring (it’s easy to miss but watch whenever she uses magic, the ring glows red). There’s a theory that this is setting up the next movie where the Wicked West Witch will make her ring into shoes to give to Evanora since the emerald was destroyed, so if that is the case the shoes will most likely be Ruby Slippers even though Disney doesn’t have the rights..

As another fuel to that fire, I just remembered in that scene with Young Cora and Young Eva, when Cora dropped the flour on Eva’s (white) shoes, Eva calls them slippers. Could be a hint.
