I really want Alice to be Grace’s mother. The resemblance is between Alice and Grace is just uncanny. We know that Cyrus is Alice’s true love, and yet Grace’s father is Jefferson. One possibility is that as a genie, Cyrus altered his appearance to be Jefferson since the Red Queen wanted him captive. This would work out nicely since Sebastian Stan is reportedly too busy to reprise the role as the Mad Hatter. If Jefferson were really Cyrus in disguise, then the producers could easily substitute one actor for the next without technically recasting him. It would be more like a substitution that can only be accomplished by putting one actor in the place of another due to the change of appearance of the character.

Or how about Alice is Grace’s maternal aunt. Being sisters Alice and Grace’s mother could share a strong resemblance. Or Alice was married to Jefferson and had Grace before she met Cyrus. Jefferson “lost” his wife because of his work. What if she met Cyrus whilst on a job with Jefferson.

I think the actress playing the Red Queen resembles Grace. I think she may have been with Jefferson at some point and Alice may be the sister of the Red Queen.

Yes, the actress playing the Red Queen also looks like Grace who also looks like Alice. I think the Red Queen is Alice’s sister and Grace’s mother, making Alice her aunt. They could do the whole “Cyrus is really Jefferson” thing but that’s a really big cheat and I don’t know if the audience would care for it.

Yeah, I remember this discussion from before.  The end of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland has a passage that eludes to Alice’s sister visiting Wonderland herself.  Before Once:  Wonderland  was announced I was firmly ensconced in the headcanon that Alice was Grace’s mother.  Now that we know Alice and Cyrus are evidently truly in love, Grace’s mother has to come from someplace else.  So Alice’s sister is the next in line for my postulating.

Don’t know quite yet where I am on the Alice’s sister=Red Queen=Grace’s mother, but I’m going to have an open mind.

Disguising Jefferson as Cyrus would in a round about way be them re-casting Jefferson, which they’ve said they won’t ever do.

Here’s the side by side I did of Grace and RQ the last time this topic came up…

Yes, they all do look as though they could be related.

I’m not sure Grace will be a direct relation to Alice. I mean, Alice in Wonderland is set during the mid 1860’s unless time moves differently in Wonderland than in the real world. Grace could end up being a descendant of Alice.

Alice was in Fictional Victorian England though, (unlike the Darlings, who were in our world), which I think they’ve said is basically just stuck looking like Victorian England, no matter how much time passes, (though I can’t remember right now where I read that last bit, so don’t quote me)?
