So I’ve been re-reading Through the Looking Glass and in the 2nd chapter when Alice meets the RQ and is invited to play chess, as a White Pawn, the RQ lays out the game board and tells Alice what the squares, each square being a different part of the world. For a pawn to get to the other side is 8 squares, and when the pawn reaches the other side, it becomes a Queen. So, according to Through the Looking Glass, here are the lands:

Squares 1 and 2: the starting position for a pawn. A Pawn can move two squares the first time, and only the first time. I think squares one an two might be FictionalLondon and SB, respectively. We know that Alice starts present day in FictionalLondon and then moves to SB and Granny’s (we think).

Square 3: No information but you get to by railway. Could it be The Land Without Color? Rather steampunky. Also, this is a stretch, but railways are romanticized as symbols of long epic journey. We know that Grendel from Beowulf is coming into play. And Beowulf is a very long traditional epic about the heroes journey

Square 4: This square belongs to Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. We know they are combining Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass and treating it as one adventure, so maybe this is Alice’s return to WL? Trying to find Cyrus?

Square 5: “mostly water” Anyone else think NL? I wonder if Ariel might pop back up…

Square 6: “belongs to Humpty Dumpty” Not a blessed clue what that means. But maybe another kingdom of some sort.

Square 7: “is all forest however one of the Knights will show you the way” my first instinct was RH but I’m not sure how that works for the t-word. I do think it will mean FTL and that the Knave will help Alice out here, especially if he’s from FTL. Also, in my head, Jefferson comes back for this.

Square 8: “we (Alice and the RQ) shall be Queen together and it’s all feasting and fun” Agrabah or Wonderland, wherever the RQ and Jafar have made camp. And it’s not feasting and fun, but an epic battle to save Cyrus.
