RegalHood: Hopefully A Second Chance at Love

The idea of Regina and Robin Hood is growing on me. A lot will depend on how he is written as a character and how much potential chemistry Regina and RH share when they finally get some screen time. For all of you Regal Hood/Regal Arrow shippers, here are some hints that your ship could become canon at some point in S3:

How soon will we find out about Regina’s new love interest?
Horowitz: Very early in the season we are going to address Regina’s love interest. What that will be, how that will happen, that’s a surprise we want to keep for now, but it’s something we’re really excited about. It’s a side of the character of Regina we’ve only touched upon in the first few seasons. We’re excited to see more of that and more importantly, exploring her capacity for love.
Kitsis: There may be somebody out there for Regina. The question is: Will she open her heart to that?
Horowitz: What we want to do with Regina with respect to a love interest is not just put a love interest just to have one. We want to make this part of the larger journey for the character over the course of the show. This is hopefully different from what we’ve done thus far. We’ve see Daniel (Noah Bean) in the past with her and what she went through. We saw her when she was young, innocent and uncorrupted falling in love and how that affected her and made her into the person she is today.
Kitsis: And in a lot of ways, that’s all she’s wanted to go back to.
Horowitz: Right. Now we want to say, “Well, what happens when the opportunity for love enters her life now when she’s grappling with all these things and she’s become the woman she is, flaws and all? How can she handle this? Can she open her heart to it? Can she accept it? Will it make her better or worse?” That’s what we’re really interested in exploring this season. source: TV Guide

TVLINE | You told me over the summer, “There is a special someone out there for Regina.” What is she like when crushing on someone — or being crushed on, however it is this scenario shakes out? Or is this not about tepid heat?

AnnKine: Some Robin Hood scoop would be great. What’s his story this season? Will he get his own backstory episode?

We will see new Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) in the premiere, and guess what?—It’s not via flashback! Robin Hood is one of the lucky few to have stayed behind in the Enchanted Forest post-curse has made himself quite comfortable in a castle that is filled with dark secrets. He’ll be helping Neal in his quest to get back to Emma and according to the OUAT creators, he’ll be getting some major screen time this season. Source: E! Online 

The fact Sean Maguire will be getting major screen in S3 screams possible love interest for Regina Mills.

So I really enjoyed Robin Hood and the way he was written in 3×1. So far I’m impressed. It remains to be seen how he and Regina get on, but it looks as if he will indeed get his chance.

IS ROBIN HOOD A KEEPER? | As previously reported, Sean Maguire will play the Prince of Thieves in multiple episodes – and not just during this 11-episode Neverland arc. “We’re definitely going to get a lot of him in the second half” of this season, says Kitsis.

I was hoping RH had left the realm entirely so was not affected by Regina’s curse, but it would appear he didn’t do that. So that is one wrinkle in this relationship that he is sort of (like everyone else!) one of her victims.

Sort of, but not to the same extent that everyone else was, because she never gave him a fake identity. I think the fact that he’s always had a clear mind of who he is, and Regina never interfered with that, would be a plus for their potential relationship.

Of course, he was still affected by the Curse in the sense that it appears to have left him all alone, so it probably took all his Merry Men away, and it wrecked the land he was left in. He seemed pretty matter of fact when he mentioned the Curse, no real emotion either way, but maybe we’ll get some more insight into how he really feels about it in the future.
