I agree, might be the triton, and have been thinking Ariel is a portal jumper…and this will lead into finding Ariel, or Ariel maybe trying to take the triton back before they can use it? Parallel to the teaser of her stealing a fork….maybe she steals it from Mulan and Neal.

Hmm. Ariel’s grotto could have been some type of underwater portal? King Triton would have gotten highly upset and then destroyed it like he did in the Disney film.

I used to think the fisherman that Cora turned into a fish was King Triton for some reason. And that his SB curse was to be a human (the creatures he hated) and a fisherman (someone who kills his “kind”). That’d be the ultimate curse for a human-hating merman king.
