I plan to post what links I find related to ratings on this post. If you find any links you are welcome to post here too. We will probably have discussions about what the ratings mean… I guess there will be a lot of twittering too.

September 30, 2013 at 10:01 am #213073RumplesGirlKeymasterThe ratings are trickling in. The full numbers will be up in a few hours but here’s the first breakdown for Heart of the Truest Believer
Earlier in the evening on ABC was 7 p.m. recap special “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland: Journey to Neverland” at a third-place 3.4/ 6. Next was the third season-premiere of “Once Upon a Time” at a third-place 5.2/ 8 from 8-9.m., which slid by 28 percent from its year-ago season-opener (7.1/11 on 9/30/12), followed by the third season-premiere of aforementioned “Revenge” at a 5.3/ 8 (#3) from 9-10 p.m. One year earlier, then relocated “Revenge” also opened notably stronger with a 6.6/10 on 9/30/12. The bottom line: Consider this a disappointing opening Sunday for ABC.

Going up against Sunday night football on NBC did us no favors. These aren’t the best they could be but they certainly aren’t totally horrible. They’ll go up as people watch it on Hulu or DVR and our live+7 viewings. ONCE topics were trending from the East coast viewing and throughout the night, such as: #SaveHenry, Neverland, Rumple, Once Upon A Time, and others. Still not sure how Twitter is going to affect the overall ratings we get on Monday mornings…
We’ll keep updating with numbers as we get them.
EDIT:
Another hindrance, AMC has been running a Breaking Bad marathon all weekend gearing up for the Series Finale that was at 9pm last night. That was a big negative in our direction as most of America is enamored of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"September 30, 2013 at 11:32 am #213090RumplesGirlKeymasterWhat follows are the fast affiliate results for Sunday, September 29 (Night 7 of the 2013-14 TV season) broken out by network and by each half-hour. Note: CBS had a 15-minute delay in a number of large markets (including New York, Chicago, Houston, Detroit, Tampa, Nashville, Hartford, Kansas City, Memphis and Knoxville) due to late running football. Ratings for the Eye net are tentative, therefore, and are subject to change

So, over all a 2.6 ratings share and 8.5 million live views. I know we all tend to freak over numbers so let’s talk it out. First off, they’re not fantastic. No one is going to deny that. It was a disappointing night overall for ABC. But the football game REALLY hurt us. ONCE was ABC’s #1 show on Sunday which is good. We did go up from 222 episode from a 2.2 to a 2.6. And our live+7 views will be better.

Adam and Eddy seem pretty happy with the ratings so far. I’ve been looking around and everyone is agreeing that up against the football game, the Breaking Bad marathon, and given low S2 numbers, ONCE either did a little better than expected.

Similarly, “Revenge” (2.4/6 in 18-49, 8.0 million viewers overall) dropped 25% but improved upon its second-half average of last season; it also held a better-than-usual 92% of its “Once” lead-in.

According to Nielsen fast national data, Sunday night’s scripted dramas were down across the board. Returning for a third season at 8 p.m., ABC’s Once Upon a Time delivered 8.45 million viewers and a 2.6 in the 18-49 demo, down 33 percent from a year-ago 3.3 rating. Lead-out Revenge averaged 8.04 million viewers and a 2.4 in the dollar demo, down 25 percent from last season’s 3.2, while newcomer Betrayal sagged badly at 10 p.m., drawing just 5.29 million viewers and a 1.5 rating. (By comparison, the short-lived 666 Park Avenue bowed last September in the same time slot with a relatively strong 2.1 rating.)
