All good stuff, I seriously can’t wait for this episode!
I agree that some of these things could definitely go a couple of ways. I think with the other name thing, it’s probably Snow to Emma because Emma isn’t currently accepting the daughter role except in dire circumstances when she reverts to calling them mom and dad, and then goes back to snow white and prince charming so that’s highly likely.
Watching Hook react to Emma tell him about the Peter Pan movie will be hysterical and I agree – perm line is probably relating to that. After all, we know Lana couldn’t make a perm work for the Welcome to Storybrooke 80s storyline, so the only perm we know of that would be logical would be from the Captain Hook in Peter Pan and that should make for a lighter moment in what is sure to be a tension-filled situation. I hadn’t even thought of the perm in relation to the fact that she’s supposed to talk to him about the movie so excellent catch! I could definitely see him asking how he was portrayed and her trying not to laugh about the ridiculous hair.
Yes, we can presume that probably by around 3×07 that Neal will be in Neverland, both from the photobombing and from them saying he’ll get there eventually & Neverland should only be the first half of the season. It makes sense storywise to have him be there, as he spent a lot of time there before. It also makes sense cause he & Rumple have their issues, as well as him, Emma, and Hook maybe needing to put aside all their differences and work together to save Henry. We still don’t know how Hook and Neal escaped before and for all we know, Hook may have had a hand in helping Neal get out and they might be able to work together on it.
Side bar: Glossing over the “enjoy it while it lasts” comment because upon further reflection, I think it was meant in an entirely different way than I initially took it. While it can equate to “I’m not looking forward to this part but some of you are so have fun,” it can also come across as “yeah enjoy your time now cause once he’s back it’s a done deal and your time is over,” which is more opinion than fact (and admittedly, is how I read it the first time.)
We are all entitled to our opinion and to not look forward to things and to hold out hope for our scenario of choice. They have set up both sides with seemingly foreshadowing endgame details that it could go either way (more frustrating than helpful!), and none of us actually KNOW what will happen, so I’m going to assume in this case it was the more the former and move on.
I do agree, however, that any outright happiness on behalf of CS (or its fans) would be interrupted by his arrival and force it back into more of a triangle so I would hazard a guess that was what was meant and nothing more. Slurpeez – I’m really not trying to attack you! I actually really enjoy your analysis of things! I know that many aren’t particularly thrilled with that tease and I don’t blame anyone on either side for holding out hope! (That is what this show is about after all, right?) 🙂
/end derailment of thread as I really do want to talk about what all was on that list! I’m SICK of the shipping wars entering neutral territory. I was just a little hurt when I first saw it and intent is hard to read sometimes. *gives cookies*
Back to the list: The Belle thing. I really really hope it’s a figment of his imagination and he’s thinking of what Belle would want him to do or remembering how strong she is and holding onto that rather than it be some trick of the shadow or of Pan. I agree, fans will riot if they twist RumBelle even more than they have already and it’s not helped by the fact that Belle/Storybrooke haven’t been seen yet. So hopefully our first glimpse of Belle this season is a good one but now I’m a little worried. I want a good RumBelle scene! On the plus side it did say something about Rumple fans enjoying themselves so… *fingers crossed*!
I imagine the line about father being a distrustful fellow could be Hook’s. The group doesn’t trust him and Charming is at the top of that list. Since this should mostly be a Snowing episode where Charming has to win over the dwarves (and at this point Snow’s father is dead and so is Charming’s), it would make more sense that it’s a present-day line in NL and likely to come from Hook to Emma.
As for “yes, blame me again” that could be…just about anybody’s under any circumstances. I imagine things will still be a little heated among the group and they all will feel like they’re being dumped on for one thing or another, whether it’s parenting choices for Snowing, or Regina, or just Hook getting blamed for anything left and right, not to mention we have no idea what’s going on in the flashbacks that could prompt such a comment as it could be just about anything. The only main person I can’t imagine having to say it would be Emma or Charming, as if it’s a parenting thing directed from Snowing, it’s likely to be in the Snow/Emma moment we’re supposed to be getting that’s highly emotional. That could be the tip of it perhaps, since we saw Emma go off on her parents last week and she likely blames them for Henry being taken in the first place since she listened to Snow’s idea at the time.
It could also very easily be Regina as the pacing of the words reads like something she might say and she’s kind of the odd person out right now in the group. Snow has Charming and vice versa, Emma has her parents as well as Hook, the only person Hook has is Emma because she’s the only one who’s offered him an olive branch and asked him to be a part of something, so really the only one who doesn’t have at least one person who *might* be willing to trust them is Regina. She’s more on the fringe because she’s included as Henry’s mother but begrudgingly so by everyone else so I could see her snapping at someone easily if they were to make any comment about being so distracted by the failsafe that none of them saw Henry being taken, or the fact that the failsafe existed in the first place and blaming her for him being snatched.
From everything I’ve heard and seen so far this should be an amazing episode and I can’t wait! We are in desperate need of new material to pour over and with them even mentioning this is JMO’s best acting to date it sounds like there’s some really good stuff. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how they incorporate the sword in the stone concept with regards to Snow, as well as Charming winning over the protective dwarves, especially Grumpy! Love Snow & Grumpy’s friendship but in the past, Charming is still the outsider who has to win them over and it should be amazing to watch! I’m just happy to get back to FTL Snowing stories cause that’s where I loved them the most and what got me hooked to begin with.
