I actually think David’s wounding is a good thing storywise, in part because I don’t think he will die.   It lets Josh exercise more of his acting chops.  It brings up drama and forces him to think what family really means.  David is going to go through his dark night of the soul.

David and Henry.   Based on interviews I think both Henry and David will question whether their families will be there for them.  This gives them parallel journeys and something to bound over once they are together and maybe help each other out.

I think that David will tell Hook or Hook will figure it out.  I think this is one of the unlikely alliances that Josh is talking about.  Hook will help with the antidote.
