Just a quick thought I meant to post last night and got distracted:

Tallahassee – Hook recognized the orphan in Emma’s eyes from the first day they met on that trip up the beanstalk. He saw who she really was when she wouldn’t let anyone in on that.

Manhattan – Emma asks Neal if he knew who she was and he says “If I had, I wouldn’t have gone near you”

Lost Girl – Emma finally has to accept who she is and admits it to Snow even though she knows it’ll hurt her, saying that she’s felt like an orphan her whole life. We also see Hook genuinely ask who Emma is (even though WE already know that he knows) and she gets a little flirty/challenges him and says “Wouldn’t you like to know?” to which he replies sincerely,  “Perhaps I would.” (Which of course is when she sees just how real this is for him and she can’t focus on that right now cause she has to find Henry so she leaves it there and walks off for the time being.

So to recap: Hook knows and has always known who she was but still wants to know more, and Neal saying that if he had known who she really was, he wouldn’t have gone anywhere near her. Remind me why I’m NOT supposed to be shipping CaptainSwan?

Between these moments, the outright statement that Neal can (and has) moved on from Emma before (“If I knew she ok, I could move on”), Charming’s constant “Once you find [true love] it can never be replaced,” the camera purposefully panning to Emma/Hook’s reactions when the other is talking about TRUE LOVE and finding their HAPPY ENDINGS, and now the fact that not only does Hook KNOW who she really is (something that nobody else in her life seems to get yet, even stuff she didn’t want to admit but now has) and ACTUALLY WANTS TO KNOW HER EVEN BETTER vs the guy who, had he known WHO SHE WAS would never have gone near her I just…..

Yep, this ship sails itself and they’ve been setting up the slow burn from the beginning. Can’t imagine how anybody thinks this is something new or that we’re still delusional or that it’s one-sided. Emma is becoming more and more impressed and open with him as time goes on and nobody gets the REAL her like he does. Right now it may be mostly Hook, but she is getting closer and closer to accepting just how close she feels to him.

Love the gif of Charming reaching for Snow’s hand while Emma puts her arm behind Hook when they’re looking at the map! As well as the drinking parallels, the winning over protectors parallels, the being supportive parallels, the outright BELIEF that Hook has in her which is HUGE, the actions > words, just…everything is perfect. They are a TEAM and they work like one. None of this “it’s too dangerous for you” but ACTUAL TEAMWORK – just like Snowing. I love it!
