What do these two want? What’s the beef with Alice and Cyrus? And how do the RQ and Jafar feel about each other? Will they turn on each other–who is really in charge?

Okay, in Aladdin, Jafar wanted the geni because he could grant wishes and I believe, Jafar wanted to rule Agrabah as well as have Princess Jasmine as his wife.  Not sure if that’s still his motivation here.

I think it’s for sure some sort of power play for Jafar. I just don’t get where the RQ fits in.

The Red Queen said that she could get Alice return to Wonderland and she did.  And he needs her wishes.

It’s possible I missed that whole thing because of my dog. *blush*

So..Jafar needs the wishes. He turns to the RQ to get Alice to WL. But what does the RQ get? Does she get one of the wishes? Does she get to rule WL (which she kinda already does seeing as Cora is gone)

It was not clear but it seemed like Jafar would have killed the RQ except he could not track Alice and she could .  She seemed to be playing a game so no idea what she wanted.

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

I just rewatched the episode and this is what I got:

Jafar wants the wishes Alice has

The RQ was responsible for getting Alice to WL using the White Rabbit and only she can track Alice through WL which is why she alive. However, we have no idea what the RQ wants.

Also, it’s interesting to note that Alice told the Knave when he tried to steal the wishes: “you can’t steal wishes. They must be granted.” Do Jafar and the RQ not know this? Because if Alice is correct then their whole plan to steal the wishes is already dead in the water. Unless they plan to have Alice hand over the wishes in exchange for Cyrus.

    Jafar – Well?

    RQ – She’s back.

Jafer – And what is the girl doing now?

RQ – Looking for her genie, of course. Isn’t that what we wanted, Jafar?

Jafar – What we want can’t be accomplished until we have the genie’s bottle, and the girl’s made all her wishes. so I’d say, perhaps you shouldn’t be so pleased with yourself.

RQ – Do not talk down to me, Jafar. I’m the Queen.

Jafar – That’s the thing about power, it can be so fleeting.

RQ – Is that a threat?

Jafar – No, threats are for people who aren’t prepared to act.

    RQ – You need me.

    Jaffar – Not any more.

RQ – But I did what you could not, I brought Alice back to Wonderland.

Jafar – Which mean your work and your usefulness, is done. I’ll take it from here.

RQ – *being choked* Do you know where she is? That’s right, you don’t. You’re not in Agrabah any more, darling. This is my world, which means only I know exactly where she is. Only I know exactly where she’s going. So if you want my help, yes, our deal remains. I will get you those wishes.

Jafar – In return for what, exactly?

RQ – All in due time. So why don’t you get on that raggedy carpet of yours, and fly away. And let me take care of Alice.

Jafar – For your sake, I hope you do.

Cheshire Cat says, “The Red Queen promised you’d be the sweetest meat I’ve ever tasted.” So it sounds like perhaps RQ doesn’t actually give a crap about Jafar getting his wishes, she just wants Alice dead? Though what she said to WR suggests she’s got something more complex in mind. “I said we’d settle up when the game was complete, we are still setting up the board. As for your friend Alice, I need you to report everything she does, where she goes, who she talks to, what she is thinking. I need more than my eyes, I need your ears.” And I guess she must want something more than just Alice getting dead, otherwise why go into business with Jafar in the first place? I’m assuming that whole deal where RQ knocked Cyrus off the cliff and he landed on the carpet was all planned, and it wasn’t just Jafar getting lucky? If so, they’ve been working together even before Alice left WL last time.

You could be right about that.

The RQ’s line about “borrowing Cyrus” to me was very sisterly. Like the elder sister stealing the youngers prized toy. Still think they’re sister.
