What do you think about Peter’s little stunt with the crossbow and the apple.

Was this just a nod to the Swiss legend of Wilhelm Tell and intended to show how out of hand his little “games” can get or is there more to it?

My theory would be that he tries to darken Henry’s heart. If he had tried the shot and missed, he could have killed Felix. this would surely have left a dark spot. We know from Regina and Cora that powerful emotions can be a strong trigger for magic. If Henry’s pure heart was tainted, it would have an effect on his emotional state and could leave to devastating effects in the end.

I think PP and the Lost Boys have a very “daredevil” attitude. The higher the risk in a “game” the more funner the game is. PP even said some Lost Boys have lost fingers but they accepted it as the “price” of the game. Felix was encouraging Henry to shoot, even though he would have been poisoned if Henry had missed. The Lost Boys thrive on taking risks because there are no adults around to tell them no.

All magic comes with a price!

Felix was creepy in that scene, standing there all calm, but with that excited anticipation on his face. GAH! Creepy! I’m guessing that if a cure for dreamshade poisoning exists, Pan has some handy, so the only real threat to Felix was probably if Henry shot him somewhere that would kill him even without the poison factor.

Dunno if Pan would want to darken Henry’s heart, because wouldn’t that then weaken it? And he wants Henry because he’s got the strongest heart ever. Pan needs to switch the allegiance of Henry’s heart, but still keep it strong. But he seemed pretty cheery about the fact that Henry shot at him, like it’s what he’d been hoping for. But how is that a good thing if he’s trying to get Henry to stay with him in NL? Unless Pan wants to die, in which case, Henry wanting to shoot him would actually be something to smile about?

I can’t quite figure Pan out, it drives me crazy, but I’m loving it!

I haven’t figured out what Pan is up to either; it’s hard to know how much of what he says should be believed. I was impressed by the fact that Henry so quickly went from reluctance to shoot at Felix to willingness to shoot at Pan. I thought the scene did a good job of showing Henry’s dilemma.  Unlike the adult “good guys” in the show, Henry has never been in combat and the decision to shoot someone, even Pan, could not have been easy for him. But despite being good, Henry is also smart and probably realized that shooting Pan might be the only way to save himself and his family. So even though he didn’t want to risk killing Felix as part of one of Pan’s games, he quickly decided he was willing to shoot Pan in order to (he hoped) put an end to the whole business.

Perhaps Pan needs to darken the heart of “The Truest Believer” in order to achieve his goals. Tempting Henry to violence may be part of it and digging up Henry’s abandonment issues, which Pan alluded to in the last episode may be part of it too.  We know Henry has said all along that he understands why Emma gave him up, but Emma said last season that she understood why her parents gave her up and we saw it didn’t erase the feelings that were buried inside her. Henry must have had some of the same doubts about his birth parents before he got the storybook and I suspect Pan is going to try to bring out those buried feelings.
