RegalHood/Outlaw Queen: Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered

Lady Marian arrived at the camp with a certain hurry. Little John frowned. The look on her face was a mix of concern and fear.

“I’m glad to see you” Robin welcomed her with a smile.

“This is not a visit of courtesy. Do you know where Regina is right now ?”

“At home, resting. Why? ”

Suddenly, worry overtook him. Why his childhood friend was so concerned about his wife ?

” I heard some men talking about her just before I come here. They know she has magic Robin. And you know they think magic is power. She could be in danger.”

They wasted no more precious time in talking and rushed to Robin and Regina’s home. Only to find an empty house. There was evidence of the young woman taking a nap on the bed.

“She had not put a fight to defend herself” Marian noticed.

” How could she ?!” Robin retorted harshly. “She’s eight months pregnant Marian and she’s not trained enough with magic to use it for defense.”

Marian told him everything she heard and who were the men talking about his wife. Finding them wasn’t hard at all. They seemed so proud of themselves for kidnapping a pregnant woman. Their laughs made him so angry that he barely refrained himself on the violence of his blows.They confessed it all. The name behind the person who concocted the plan of Regina’s kidnapping wasn’t unknown. Gisborne.

With the help of his merry men, he managed to break into Gisborne’s safe place where he kept Regina. They knocked out the guards on their way and at one corner, they came across Gisborne.

“Where is my wife ? ” Robin questioned slowly. “I won’t ask again”.

“We’re not interested in your wife. Or the child she’s carrying. We only wish to steal her magic”. Gisborne explained, sword in hand.

Little John somehow found himself behind the man and without a sound, hit him in the back of the head. “That guy is getting seriously on my nerves.”

Robin grabbed the keys of the cells. He needed to take her far away from here and quickly. The guards won’t be out for not much longer;

“Regina ! ” Robin shooted to locate her.

“I’m here !” She yelled in return, relieved to hear his voice.

Gisborne had her locked up in the last cell. She didn’t hide her tears of relief the second she saw him.

“My love…are you alright ?” He whispered as his hand cupped her cheek.through the bars.

“I’m alright”  Regina confirmed, shaking her head. “We’re alright” She added as her eyes fell on her rounded stomach where her hand was resting.

“Let’s get you out of here”.

He opened the cell’s door and embraced her tightly, as much as possible with her belly. He kissed her with all the love he had, He was so scared of losing her for real this time. And kissed her again and again until John cleared his throat a few meters from them.

That night, they didn’t sleep in their home but in a tent at the camp. With enough blankets to make it comfortable. Robin didn’t sleep at all, not wanting her out of his sight for a second. They laid face-to-face on the mountain of blankets. When she stirred in her sleep, he stroked her face  lovingly with his finger. Then his eyes fell on her hand resting against her stomach. He was so caught in his thought that he did not notice his wife waking up. He knew she was awake when she took his hand in hers and placed it in her belly. He felt a strong kick beneath his palm and smiled. Theirs eyes locked, he brought his lips to hers.

” I won’t even breathe without you…I can’t imagine living if you’re not in my arms…”
