Hello! My thought is probably a little peculiar, and we have a lot of things to believe the character of the Evil Queen is Ursula, but a few things caught me off guard.
1 – When Lana spoke in the promo, it sounded a bit French.
2 – She’s blonde, I understand turning into a squid-woman to enter water or to resolve something with Ariel, but a change of hair color is utterly unnecessary if that it the case.
3 – Lana tweeted “Well, the cat’s outta the bag! Yes, I play Ursula”, which says more of her as an actress than Regina as a character.
Yes, I realize it would be stupid to make them out to be completely different characters, looking the same. But I could see them making them be sisters, a polijuiced ugly Ursula… I don’t know. I just wish they don’t do this because it was Lana’s dream to play Ursula. I hope they have a good explanation for that and a great explanation for her French accent and yellow hair.
Anyone else on the same page?
[adrotate group="5"]The whole “i’m playing Ursula” thing is what gets me. I think she means literally. As in “Regina will play Ursula” but not be Ursula. Ariel’s voice is rather shocking–like Ursula changed. I think Regina killed the real Ursula or something and then became her in order to fool Ariel.

It’s the light making her hair seem yellow.
Lana Parrilla is very excited, and considering Robert’s playing the beast, I think Lana can perfect Ursula!
Trust Me if anyone could bring justice to Ursula, whose better than her greatest fan Lana!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus Ursula has to be a GODDESS who grants a wish every year. How could that be if she is Regina?

I’m not saying they are getting into POTC. I’m saying that they are using the idea of Calypso here and merging her with Ursula. Hence the French-Caribbean accent but sticking with the typical Ursula hair and look.

Perhaps, as a sea goddess, Ursula can also see the future. Knowing that Ariel might actually meet the real Regina (assuming Ariel does meet the real Regina in the future), she modifies her appearance to look like Regina, so that Ariel thinks Regina is actually Ursula. The question is: why? What reason would Ursula have for wanting Ariel to distrust Regina?
