Tonight our wonderful Jolly Roger crew had to reveal their deepest secrets in order to Save Neal. Here they were:
Hook: He is in love with Emma
Charming: He can never leave Neverland
Snow: She wants to have a baby
Emma: She has never stopped loving Neal and will always love him but she is terrified about him being alive because it means she has to deal with those feelings.
What are your thoughts on these secrets?! How will everyone continue to work together knowing all this?

Hook: I thought his secret was kinda weak. What about turning over a young Nealfire to Pan? I think that’s a bigger secret than saying you’re in love with Emma, which he’d already admitted to kissing.
Charming: We knew that. But they’ll find a way around it.
Snow: Ginny is so pregnant in real life.
Emma: Omg, omg, omg. I didn’t want to listen to hers and it really wasn’t what I thought it would be, but omg.
Neal: You never stop fighting! You hear me!

I wonder if the secrets had to be a secret of the heart instead of a secret of your past that you’re ashamed of. Because all these secrets were more personal secrets of the heart.

We did say this in the chat tonight but this is only the beginning. I’m a pretty firm believer that CSF goes on HOLD now (you know…TO SAVE THE KID) but once they get back to SB. Hold on, Oncers. Whatever you ship….it ain’t over yet.

Pan wanted them to reveal these their secrets to one another so that it will create potential fractures in the group.
-Hook v. Neal vying for Emma’s affections.
-Snow P.Oed at David for spoiling any chance her hope of expanding the family (or for that matter keeping it together if everyone save David could get home)

Pan did tell Felix that they needed to move Neal to the Echo Caves because the “game was about to begin.” It was a total set up. There is nothing that boy doesn’t know. He is playing a very long game with them and he wants to watch them pick each other apart because if they are concentrating on each other and their issues then they aren’t focused on Henry.

Important for the OUAT mythology in many ways: first we have Tinkerbell’s efforts at finding Regina a 2nd stab at Twoo Wuv, now we have Hook discovering it’s possible to do that in a more organic/less pixie dust fashion. Also sets up the Swanfire/CaptainSwan shipping war on the show, which I agree will be for later in the season. Both Hook and Neal have already got out their duelling gloves and slapped them on the table though: Hook admitted he loved her, Neal admitted he’d never stop fighting for her. Emma’s in the middle going “lemme get back to you on that….”
While Snow’s new found desire to get knocked up could be to cover for a real life pregnancy, I think that’s an easy way to look at it. Snow has really struggled with the fact that she never got to raise Emma – think back to Emma and Snow in the destroyed nursery in Snowing’s castle back in season 2. She really regrets that Emma grew up so isolated and alone, and that she missed out on all of those maternal milestones. So to me it’s a pretty logical step that she’d want to have another baby and that it would feel like a Big Bad Secret because last season she and David couldn’t even agree which land they wanted to live in, and she’s struggling to bond with her now adult daughter anyway.
David’s secret was, in many ways, a d’uh moment – the audience knew it and it’s an easy way to narratively move forward to the next challenge of getting David off NL without dying.
Emma’s was the most interesting: I love you, but I wish you were (still) dead because it’s too hard to deal with all of this. Complex and interesting emotions.

Another parallel to Regina emerges, Regina’s life would be so much easier if Tink had listened to Blue and minded her own beeswax. Dollars to pesos Regina’s love life is going to take on greater importance to the plotline with parallels like that and hints like what she told Ariel about never being able to speak to your love after she nabbed her voice. But I digress…

November 3, 2013 at 11:09 pm #220873PheeParticipantHook had so many secrets to choose from, how to pick just one. I think he chose to reveal this one because he’s aware that he has competition now, so it was now or never to make the big declaration of how the feels about her. He couldn’t have her walk over the chasm and into Neal’s arms without her knowing that he wants to be considered a legit contender. I don’t blame him for having wanted to get that point across, and I liked the way he worded it, saying that Emma had finally made him believe he’d be able to move on from Milah. That’s a pretty powerful statement, that she’s made him feel like he’ll be able to love again after 300 years.
There’s been speculation for ages that Snowing will have another baby before the show ends. It’s a logical move, and given Charming’s predicament, this was the perfect time for Snow to reveal that she wants it right now. I do think Ginny’s pregnant, but it’s probably just a coincidence that it happened at the right time. Unless perhaps, during hiatus, Gosh had talked with Kitswitz about how they wanted to have a baby IRL, so they could figure out how to work around it on the show, and they decided to work it into the show.
The caves were the perfect plot device to force the truth out of Charming.
Emma’s secret was perfect. It’s all the conflicting emotions that SF shippers have been expecting from their reunion. It hurts, but it’s real, and honest, and beautiful.
