For the discussion of the character Ariel in OUAT!
I was so happy with Ariel, she was everything I’ve been waiting for since season 1!
I am curious what she has been up to since Regina took away her voice *cough* Hookriel *cough* but taking off the shipper goggles, what has she been up to since Eric left?

I was curios about whether the mermaids have their own land (world) or not. Ariel told Snow she could travel to her land, not to her kingdom. So that may imply she has a land of her own. But there were A LOT of mermaids in NL… hmm…?

I really loved Ariel. She was fun and feisty and I loved that she stole things.
I’m curious as to the rest of her family. Where are they? What does her father think of humans?
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"Ariel was perfect! Ok aside from the “Just between girlfriends” moment with Ursula because I totally had a flashback to Cheyenne on Reba because it sounded too modern rather than mythical mermaid but it is a TINY quibble. That Dinglehoppering of Regina in the neck was more than enough to make up for it!
I am a bit sad about Hookriel, but Eric is a sweetie, and who knows as they booked him recurring. I want them to have a good story for Ariel, and the good thing about a short arc is it can end happy as Cinderella or Aurora’s story (mostly…poor Mulan) did.   So I think we’ll get to see Ariel’s happy ending sooner or later this way compared to how long it would drag out with Hookriel. I just wanted more Ariel.
I’ll take what we can get really. I am looking forward to her friendship with Belle too, somehow she just has such natural chemistry as a friend with GG, so it was so sweet to see that. I’d missed those sort of scenes she had with Ruby –just two friends kicking it.
We get caught up in the shipping stuff, and then lately there’s been a round of bromance–but good solid sisterhood is wonderful to see.
Especially if it gets a Dinglehopper shanking! I cracked up with how Regina just sort of wandered around hurt, like a boss in a video game might to buy you time to finish it off. It was like “yeah so that’s why they put the lame line about concentrating in for magic….to explain why she couldn’t just make herself some sushi with her magic…Ariel broke her concentration.”
As for her “land”–I wonder if it is between worlds not so much IN Nl, and mermaids are immortal, or it is in NL and mermaids age normally if out of NL?

I am also DREADFULLY curious about whether or not Ariel is a princess or not? They said something about Snow teaching her how to be a princess didn’t they? >> plus the whole “mini-trident” lol That could imply her father is still King Triton in this version

Watching her interact with Snow and being with Eric, I know the actress is older than Disney’s Ariel but there was still a naivety about her, like she didn’t think twice about putting on that bracelet on Snow. There was still an innocence there.
I like how she’s still collecting human stuff. I can see how, Gold’s shop will be treasure trove for her once she gets to Storybrooke.
So far, we’ve seen two characters from the Enchanted Forest, expelled and living in Neverland. Tinkerbell (she lost her wings, her home = she became a lost fairy). Ariel lost her voice, her love and I guess, felt lost from her family and she became a lost mermaid in Neverland.
