We are very much a ship and let ship even if that ship is no ship forum. We believe in respect–FOR ALL IDEAS, BELIEFS, AND INTERPRETATIONS–above else.
Therefore, imagine my surprise, horror, anger, and downright HURT when the first thing I discover this morning while doing my morning forum check are posts/posters calling the other side “stupid” and “jackass” which goes against the ship and let ship AND the respect rule to such an absurd extent that I am currently having trouble forming words. PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW CALLING SOMEONE STUPID OR A JACKASS IS KEEPING INLINE WITH THE RULES OF THIS FORUM.
This is not coming from an SF ship perspective. This is coming AS YOUR MODERATOR.
I have been tolerant. I have been patient. And I have been kind. I have allowed you guys to fangirl/guy out over spoilers without trying to be a cruel and demand that they be covered up. I have spoiled tagged posts over and over without issuing warnings.
But enough is enough.
Either you don’t respect ME or you don’t respect DANIEL or you don’t respect THIS FORUM. Or maybe all three.
Frankly, I don’t care. Either you follow the rules Daniel has set and that I and Matt try to enforce or I am going to be get seriously nasty. SO for clarification
1) RESPECT all posters, posts, thoughts, ideas, interpretations, theories, and beliefs. I don’t care if the idea of something makes you want to set yourself on fire: by god YOU ARE GOING TO REPSECT EVERYONE’S RIGHT TO BELIEVE WHAT THEY WANT. There is a difference between thoughtful and considerate debate and hatred. Do you GET that these are other PEOPLE. This not a WAR. These are not enemies you trying to pick off one by one. These are OTHER HUMAN BEINGS who simply have a different line of thought than you. My god, guys! In the not too distant future, this show is going to go off the air. And maybe we will be sad that things didn’t turn out the way we wanted them to. But guess what: you’ll move on. You’ll get another fandom and another show and you’ll ship something else.
2) SHIP AND LET SHIP EVEN IF THAT SHIP IS NO SHIP. You do not get to claim to be doing that and then post such incredible hate.
You think I’m harsh or unfair? Fine. You want to hate me? I don’t care anymore. Hate me. Disrespect me. But you are going to resepct the rules of this forum.
