I agree and Emma definitely glances at Hook then back at Neal.  She has been thinking a certain way for years about Neal, but she undid her bad opinion of Hook in a matter of days it would seem.   I bet she is realizing how hasty that was.  She may still take time to realize who the better man is, but then she may struggle with whether she deserves Neal too.  Hook is an easy option but he likely will not challenge her to be better, even if Hook might be motivated to appear better to get her to notice him.  Neal is not concerned with good form but substance.

Look at all the subtle things:

Seeing Tink’s snarky versus warm reaction to seeing them again.

Neal’s reaction to her “I choose Henry” riot act versus Hook’s “Well eventually he’ll be safe and you’ll choose me.”

Neal’s reaction to Charming’s life being in danger, versus Hook’s.

The writers are slowly revealing that despite all those fans who want to think Hook is the “unselfish” man and Neal the “selfish” one, it’s actually the other way around.  That feels very pride and prejudice to me, actually.    Hook is totally giving me Wickham vibes, and Neal the Darcy ones.  Silly as parallels can be, I guess we must wait to see what more there is.
