This is my first post, and I am delurking, yup!, so I hope I don’t screw up.
First I want to thank alllll the posters in this thread : for some obscure reason (not so obscure, more on that later) I ship Swanfire (sorry I don’t like FireThieves) and thank you guys, because aye, here is a safe haven =)
I used to appreciate Hook when he was first introduced but let’s be honnest : I read so much idiocy from CS shippers that it ruined the character for me. And I’m not gonna even start on everything I heard about nasty tweets to MRJ.
Ah MRJ!… I love the guy, seriously, he is cute in his own special way and I just adore the way he portraits Neal. I have a huge crush on MRJ, just like on Robert : I can’t explain it, I just adore them.
Anyway, I wanted to post last night after I saw a link, which I followed as the good lurker that I am, about how SwanFire are TL, based on Aristophanes’ speech at The Symposium. Sorry I’m a bit lazy to go back to the link. First it happened that “tale” is one of my favorite ever. Then I’m not gonna lie, Emma and Neal’s story reminds me so much of my own that… yeah of course I can’t help ship them, especially when MRJ does such a great job.
I really do believe Emma and Neal are end game. Maybe I’m wrong because afterall my name is not Adam, but I truelly believe it. Real love is also about pain and fights. Because that’s after fighting, that’s because of the pain that one day you decide to stand up, that’s because sadly real love is not only about walking by with a huge, and a bit dumb, smile on your face, because real love is also about pain, about hurt that will eventually come because HEY… HUMANS, we make mistakes. And real love is about going past the hurt, the flaws, every mistakes. Because real love is also about finding each other, forgiving each other and simply keeping on loving each other, no matter what.
I honnestly believe Emma and Neal are two faces of the same coin, as Plato said it. And yes, they do remind me of my own Adam and I.
Anyway, I want to thank you guys for this thread that I love. Especially since a lot of CS fans really got to me sometimes. Don’t get me wrong : there is ALWAYS exceptions to one rule and I don’t want to bi… about them but the “parallels (sp?) from doom” just tire me sometimes. And I won’t even go to the MRJ threaths, that’s just… crazy. Sadly most of CSers seem to me like little teenage hysterical girls. I heard they created a petition? SERIOUSLY?! It’s sad because all this drama first made me dislike a character, and then… seriously it’s ruining the conversations. Once again, I know not all CSers are the same but really most are dramas seekers and … well I enjoy reading this Swanfire thread, it’s a little sunshine in the Once community and thank you guys =)
Now, as far as analysis go, I can’t believe a show about true love would pair Emma with some guy that basically tell her off when she says “we need to talk”. Just for these lines, I can’t believe Emma will spend her life with Hook, when she has a super Neal coming back, on badass mode to get his son and family back.
Anyway, that’s it, I hope I wasn’t being offensive when talking about CSers, they just get me down sometimes, they are loud and annoying, most of them, a bit like a kid on a tantrum, actually.
By the way, did I mention I love that thread and MRJ? =)
