The idea that she might have designed Regina’s ward-drobe is interesting. Most likely it’s just symbolic of her taking over from Regina. Making her Cruella though would make her the anti-Elphaba, it amazes me people didn’t pick up on that. Even if she wasn’t based off the Wicked version it would be very jarring to have a version of the WWW that was polar obvious(exploiting/killing animals rather than liberating them). What if instead, if they were adapting Wicked, Madame Morrible was Cruella? She could be the designer of both their wardrobes and some other relation to both of them.

But that’s the thing, alot of people aren’t familiar with either Wicked the musical or the novel. They wouldn’t know Madame Morrible from Madame Whatever. Though I do like the idea that the witch was once Regina’s fashion designer who got a hold of some powerful dark magic. But the timeline would be off since Jefferson went to Ox before Regina was.. Fully evil queen?

Also, the thing contrast between Elphaba and Cruella is simply lovely 😛 For all who are not familiar with Wicked: there is a difference between animals and Animals. Lower case is just a normal animal. Uppercase signifies a talking Animal. The cowardly Lion is a Lion, not a lion. Elphaba was very serious about the opression of Animals in Oz and tried to aid them.
