Last year, at the end of season 2 we made a huge thread about what our favorite and least favorite moments were. It turned into one of my favorites because I think it shows how differently we all view a show that we all love so much.
So, since Adam and Eddy are treating both halves as “mini seasons” let’s do it for the first half!
Answer as many questions as you want, or just give us your overall opinion of the season!
1) Overall grade for the season?
2) Top two favorite episdoes
3) Least two favorite episode
4) Favorite moment
5) Favorite new character
6) Biggest “OMG” moment
7) Funniest/saddest/happiest moment

This was the best season (Really season half of the series) and to be honest…Part of me would have accepted this season being the last season of the show. For me at least it tied enough knots and filled enough wholes and concluded a few arcs that satisfied me enough.
Another reason this season was really good was that it had one of the most evilest Villains of the series. (Until Chernabog shows up) Pan was the greatest Villain this series has had.
The last episode …Just wow…..It really gave me closure until those last few minutes.
So all in all I give this season half a 10 million out of 5
December 16, 2013 at 3:53 pm #231398RumplesGirlKeymasterI’ll start us off.
1) Overall, I’m going to give 3.1 a solid B+ I think for the most part it was fast paced, adventerous, but had some wonderful character development moments. Neverland did start to wear on the soul after awhile and I was glad to leave. I wish there had been more rescue attempts on Henry before 309 by the JR6. They just sorta moved from tangent to tangent. I liked that NL made people both off kilter but also more sure of who they were. The finale was mind twisty and epic and but heartbreaking. I wish I had more answers: SO. MANY. UNANSWERED. QUESTIONS.
2) Top two favorite episodes are probably Ariel and Going Home. A very close third place is Nasty Habits. I expected “Ariel” to be more fluff than it was. Turned out to be quite serious! But it was very enjoyable to have one of my favorite Disney princesses on screen after waiting for 3 years. The finale was just amazing. I’m still having trouble processing it all.
3) My least favorite episodes were “Good Form” and “Save Henry.” I’ve really wanted Hook’s backstory for a long time and it fell flat to me. I wished it had been about his father instead, that was the story I wanted. I didn’t feel anything when Liam died because it was a seriously dumb way to die. And I am not happy that Charming’s first individual storyline (dreamshade) outside of Snow felt very plot device-y. Just a way to get to Hook’s story. That’s now how Charming should be treated. Save Henry was fast and while I did love some parts of it, the backstory was wholly disappointing. 2.5 years I speculate about Henry’s adoption and it was super mundane. Makes me worry about other big reveals.
4)I think my favorite moment over all was the Rumbelle reunion in the shop (yeah yeah yeah. I’m a shipper). It was everything I’ve waited for since Skin Deep. He’s ready for a real future with her.
5)While I absolutely LOATHE his character, the take on Peter Pan was spectacular. Really twisty but I could see where A and E were coming from. Peter Pan does have a certain creepy factor. And Robbie Kay was brilliant in the role.
6) Biggest OMG moment, easy: Rumple dies. I’m not okay. I’ve been crying on and off since 9pm last night
7) Funniest moment: anytime Regina spoke in NL. They gave her the best lines
Saddest moment: Rumple’s death for me, obviously (no body= no death, I chant). But Emma’s speech to Snow in 302 about always being an orphan killed me. JMO did that really well.
Happiest moment: the family finally being united with Henry in 311 outside the tower. It was nice to see him being hugged. Poor kid

7) Funniest/saddest/happiest moment- Emma and Henry in NYC
December 16, 2013 at 4:55 pm #231428rikucrafterParticipantKyle’s half-Season in Review (Season 3, Part I)
1) Overall grade for the season?
A solid A. This was the best ‘season’ of the show so far, and it had so many strong beats and insane character development that it stood as the best so far. Admittedly, Neverland was pretty boring sometimes, and I really just wanted it to go.
2) Top two favorite episodes
‘Going Home’ & ‘Think Lovely Thoughts’. Going Home was what Season Two’s finale should have been. It left me wanting so much more and was so emotional. If Rumple really is dead, he went out in style.
3) Least two favorite episode
‘Good Form’ and ‘Lost Girl’. Hook’s backstory was one of the season’s biggest letdowns. Lost Girl I just generally thought suffered from post-premiere drop (most second episodes do).
4) Favorite moment
Emma and Henry’s new life at the end of ‘Going Home’.
5) Favorite new character
Felix. I CANNOT BELIEVE HE IS DEAD ;_;
6) Biggest “OMG” moment
The reveal of Malcolm to be Peter Pan.
7) Funniest/saddest/happiest moment
Funniest: Regina’s one liners, especially in the premiere.
Saddest: Panry killing Felix, or Rumple sacrificing itself.
Happiest: Emma and Henry’s routine in their new life.
December 16, 2013 at 6:09 pm #231453MatthewPaulModerator1) Overall grade for the season?: I give it an A-. It’s the second best Season (well Half-Season) of the show, following Season 1. It was a huge improvement from Season 2 in which we got a tighter storyline, less plotlines and characters jumbled together, and I feel that the majority of the cast had plenty of character development. Belle is the only major character who really got the short end of the stick, but I was impressed that they at least came up with Shadow Belle as a way to somewhat give Belle screentime during her absence. I also feel like the last 3 episodes just felt rushed and weak compared to the first 8 episodes. Overall, I think this split-Season approach was a step in the right direction. This allows them to tell a story arc in a tighter number of episodes, rather than stretching it out for a full 22 episodes. I can’t have imagined Neverland lasting all Season, as people complained about being sick of Neverland as is.
2) Top two favorite episodes: “Lost Girl” and “Think Lovely Thoughts.” “Lost Girl” was an episode where really everybody had a moment to shine, if you count Shadow Belle. You had the Charmings/Regina centric flashback, Emma coming to grips with who she is, Rumple and Belle seemingly talking, Hook showing his knowledge of the island (the Disney reference about Hook’s perm was fun too), and Pan really beginning to show how threatening he can be. “Think Lovely Thought” was just a solidly written episode with a lot of good moments. The whole Pan backstory, Pan and Rumple’s confrontation in Skull Rock, Neal slowly beginning to trust Rumple, and the powerful ending of Henry giving his heart up.
3) Least two favorite episodes: “Save Henry” and “The New Neverland.” Both of these episodes just really come off as rushed. With “Save Henry”, the adoption storyline just felt really flat and underwhelming, and I expected more. I also would have preferred seeing Regina’s life with Henry progress, rather than getting that pointless plot point of Regina finding out who Emma is and retconning that with a forgetful potion. I also felt like they got Henry’s heart back from Pan way too easily and there could have been more of a showdown. We also never got to see Neal firsthand finding out that Pan was his grandfather, and that was a revelation I really wanted to see onscreen. The entire scene of Neal freeing Rumple from Pandora’s box also should have been longer. “The New Neverland” is also rushed, but for different reasons. Ariel and Eric reuniting was way too quick and easily resolved, when I felt it should have been developed longer. Same goes for the Darling reunion. Both Ariel/Eric and the Darlings were written off too quickly, as if the story just decided they were no longer needed. I think they could have made “The New Neverland” flashbackless like “Heart of the Truest Believer” and “Into the Deep.” The Medusa flashback just felt like fun pointless filler, where instead we could have had more screentime devoted to the plot points I mentioned earlier.
4) Favorite moment: Rumple and Peter Pan’s confrontation in Skull Rock.
5) Favorite new character: Peter Pan. Yes we love to hate the character, but that’s essentially what makes a great villain. You WANT reasons to despise Peter Pan so much, that it becomes really satisfying to see him bite the dust. Robbie Kay’s performance just blew me away, and I was impressed with how well he worked in comparison to Robert Carlyle, which is not an easy task. You believed that Pan had the upper hand against Rumple.
6) Biggest “OMG” moment: Pan and Henry switching bodies. That was a surprise that I honestly wasn’t spoiled about, and it wasn’t that predictable.
7) Funniest/saddest/happiest moment: Funniest moment was Hook asking Emma about how he’s portrayed in the traditional Peter Pan stories, and her telling him “If waxed mustaches and perms are your thing.” Saddest moment was Rumple’s sacrifice. Happiest moment was the shortlived happy reunion in “The New Neverland.”
December 16, 2013 at 7:21 pm #231507RumplesGirlKeymasterI also would have preferred seeing Regina’s life with Henry progress, rather than getting that pointless plot point of Regina finding out who Emma is and retconning that with a forgetful potion
I totally agree. 309 would have worked better for me if it was showing me Regina with Henry over the years, not some ploy device-y ridden few weeks. The adoption was such a let down
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 16, 2013 at 7:44 pm #231519CendrillonParticipant1) Overall grade for the season: A. I think this is the definitely the best season (so far). 🙂
2) Top two favorite episodes: Oh golly that’s tough… ummm… “Ariel” and “Going Home”. As depressing and stressful and angsty as “Going Home” is, it’s still an incredible episode.
3) Least two favorite episodes: “The Heart of the Truest Believer” and “Nasty Habits”.
4) Favorite moment: Hook and Emma’s conversation before they enter Dark Hollow. Captain Swan all the way. 🙂
5) Favorite new character: Tinker Bell.
6) Biggest OMG moment: Rumpel and Pan/Malcolm’s death scene. I think that’s the most violent reaction I’ve had to an event on the show.
7) Funniest/saddest/happiest moment: Funniest: Okay, I have a few. Hook: “Actually I’m quite fond of you when you’re not yelling at me.”; Regina: “And what, you’ll win her over with your rainbow kisses and unicorn stickers?!”; Also, Regina: “I need a child, Gold, and I need your help.” Gold: “Well I’m flattered, but uninterested.”
Saddest: Malcolm’s decision to abandon Rumpel. I hate him.
Happiest: I wouldn’t say that there are many moments that actually made me happy so far this season, but discovering that I was correct and Robin Hood was “the man with the lion tattoo” was great. I love Regina, and I think that she and Robin will be good together (assuming they do get together, which is in no way set in stone yet). I also thought that Emma and Henry’s new life was very happy.
I LOVED the first half of the season, and I cannot wait till March 9! Only 83 days to go! 😀
December 17, 2013 at 6:55 am #231680PriceofMagicParticipant1) Overall grade for the season?- A- Because whilst it was better than season 2, things happened that I didn’t want to happen. (I mean that in the nice way)
2) Top two favorite episodes- It’s hard to pick because each episode (apart from Good Form) had something I liked in it.
3) Least two favorite episode- Good Form and Ariel- The two weakest episodes of the forum. Hook’s backstory felt flat, I didn’t care what happened. I despised Snow in Ariel, not just because of the echo caves scene but because in flashback Snow felt to Mary-Sueish.
4) Favorite moment- RumBelle’s reunion. Though Felix has several moments that I liked.
5) Favorite new character- Felix. I didn’t want him to die!
6) Biggest “OMG” moment- Rumple actually seemingly being killed off. It was heartbreaking. Also how Emma and Henry driving off in the bug could feel like such a potential series ender.
7) Funniest/saddest/happiest moment- Saddest moment: Felix’s death and Rumple’s “death” though Rumple went out in style. Also Belle sobbing on the floor unconsolably. Happiest moment: RumBelle’s reunion and how they implied RumBelle had slept together just through smirking and a change of clothing. Funniest moment: (311 is stuck in my mind at the moment) Henry’s family tree homework- I want to see him have to complete it, now that his family tree has grown.
All magic comes with a price!

I know they were trying to show how sad Henry was with regards to his family, but I also think it was an in-show joke about how crazy his actual family tree was.
