If it comes down to Hook and Neal and Emma was going to make a decision eventually but then one of them DIES before she does that, her choice is now gone. She is no longer in control of her own destiny and life. It’s you end up with the alive one because he’s the one left standing. I hate that. And if Hook does die and she ends up with Neal…we’ll never hear the end of it.

Precisely. And to me, Emma losing Neal and ending up with Hook would make it seem like she was settling for her second choice. Last time Emma thought Neal died, she was devastated and tried to distract herself from her grief by making out with the pirate. Yet, come light of day, what remains? I don’t see what foundation they have to build a home on or what they even have in common. Is Hook really going to dismantle the Jolly Roger and come live in a home made of brick and mortar? Is he really going to be Mr. Monogamous and Step-Dad of the Year? I have a really hard time stomaching it if that is the direction the show goes. In my estimation, it sends the wrong message to viewers that says, “Good guy who lived a hard lives dies a miserable death, while that poor man’s quasi-step-dad who’s always been selfish ursups his place to get the family nice guy always craved. Moral of the story: it doesn’t matter how much of a bully you are for hundred of years because one week of good behavior is enough to make up for it. Is that the message that A&E want to teach children? Isn’t there enough of that crap in real life? If that happens then I can’t in good faith keep thinking about the nose-dive the show takes.
