I had this thought last night, and I think it would nicely tie the Snow White story with Rumple and Cora.
Eva and Leopold get engaged, married and then soon after, Eva quickly becomes pregnant but Cora curses the child Eva is carrying. In desperation to make sure the child is okay, Eva goes to Rumple and he puts a protection spell on the child and to make it valid, he pricks Eva’s finger and enchants it or something. So, for the nine months and until she gives birth, the child is protected by magic.
