I do think it’s damage control but it’s damage control one of two way

1) OMG we’ve said too much about spoilers (despite being mega #nospoilers people)

OR

2) We didn’t realize what we were saying in a fun little interview and now our fandom is reacting (as this fandom is wont to do with…EVERYTHING)
