David Anders (Once Upon a Time, Alias) has signed onto The CW’s upcoming adaptation of the DC Comics property, our sister site Deadline reports.

iZombie, headed up by Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero, is the story of Liv, a med student-turned-zombie whose job at the coroner’s office affords her easy access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. But with every meal, she inherits the corpse’s memories.

Anders will play Blaine, a rich guy who gets in over his head in the drug business.

Malcolm Goodwin (Breakout Kings) also has been cast as Clive, a sympathetic and down-on-his-luck police detective who comes to believe Liv’s claims and winds up helping her solve homicide cases to soothe the disturbing voices in her head.

Alexandra Krosney (Last Man Standing) has taken the role of Peyton, Liv’s best friend and roommate who worries that their relationship is becoming distant.

iZombie received a series order from the network in January.

My reaction too….not going on the DVR list I’m afraid.

I keep meaning to watch Walking Dead and that’s all the zombies I can handle thank you very much.

Yes, this sounds like a real winner, DC Comics.  Lol.

It makes me really sad DC is ready and willing to adapt anything except Wonder Woman for TV.

They tried to do Wonder Woman a few years ago and then there were so many negative comments on the pilot they shelved it.

    2011 Wonder Woma

We can hope though maybe someday they’ll find an approach that works!

Anders seems excited though. He was tweeting a bunch of Zombie pics on Twitter today after the news broke.

I know about the 2011 remake.  Why David E. Kelley was chosen for that, I’ll never understand. But Amazon could be great if it was just given a chance. She is going to be appear in three movies coming up, so hopefully, attitude will change for the TV show after that happens.

He really enjoyed doing the movie The Revenant, so this is right up his alley.

Disappointed though.  With both him and Meghan gone, we’ll never get to see WhaleWolf/FrankenWolf develop.  Would have been so refreshing to have a couple that was uniquely created by OUAT.  (wiping a tear away 🙁 ).

    What in the actual? LOL

Wonder where they’ll be shooting this? Couple other big CW shows, Supernatural and Arrow both shoot in Vancouver, (and Vampire Diaries shot its pilot there, though they moved production to Atlanta after that). If this ends up shooting in Vancouver too, then maybe it’d actually make it easier for them to get him to appear on OUAT now and then, depending on how big his role is in the zombie show.

I think it is going to shoot in Vancouver.
