A good friend of mine, WizardofOz, shared this with me. I thought it was very interesting.
Note what the show’s creator, Korey Hunt, has to say, further down the page, about casting young Bruce Wayne.
Hunt is worried that bringing in young versions of supervillains is a misstep. “It’s that Patton Oswalt bit about the ‘Star Wars’ prequels all over again. ‘Hey, you like Darth Vader? Well, you’re going to get to see him as a little kid!'” Casting a young Bruce Wayne will also be difficult; Hunt just hopes they’ll find someone who “isn’t going to Jake Lloyd all over the place” (another reference to the underwhelming “Star Wars” prequels) but thinks Jared Gilmore, who currently plays Henry Mills in “Once Upon a Time” (and also played Bobby Draper in the first two seasons of “Mad Men”), would be a strong choice.

February 27, 2014 at 9:11 am #248382RumplesGirlKeymasterI saw this last night. I think it’s important to note that they want someone LIKE Jared, not Jared himself. I doubt he’s going anywhere.

It’d be kinda funny if he did get cast, because Donal Logue was in Terriers with MRJ.

Unless Jared is locked into a contract, I can’t see why he wouldn’t be considering it and I wouldn’t doubt if Hunt approached him about the role either.
I wonder if Dylan Schmid will audition for the role? Would be great to see him sink his teeth into that. Personally, I always find him far more interesting to watch and feel he has much better acting skills than Jared.

Idk. I still think they threw out his name as a “we want someone young and cute who can work alongside experienced adults in a limited way”

Not sure Phee and have been wondering myself. I’ve tried looking up more info to see and can’t find it. I do know because he’s still under 16 he’s limited to the number of hours he can work during a school year though free to work 8hrs a day during the summer months. In any event, I thought it was worth mentioning in lieu of the “spoiler that shall not be named” and Rose McIver saying it’s not who we think it is.

I don’t think Dylan is limited to ABC. He came from AMC to ABC. As a child actor, I’m sure his agent has made sure he’s open to work anywhere and while he may have a contract to for X number of years with OUAT, I can’t see his agent agreeing to limit him to OUAT or ABC. That would kill a child’s acting career.
Dylan Everett, is a Canadian actor (his sister was as well), and I am very close to his family. Dylan has starred in a lot of TV series, including Disney Channel, and has never been limited to what network he can seek work with.

You mean Jared? I was referring to Jared

That’s true. But I think Phee and then your response to her is a good point, would you leave a full time gig as a regular for a reoccurring which is what this seems to be.

February 27, 2014 at 11:04 am #248405TheGoldenKeyParticipantRG, yes I meant Jared. 😉 Typing too many Dylans between Dylan Schmid and Dylan Everett. hahaha!
