I can not stomach the thought of the WW coming across his lifeless body and, recognizing him, reviving him. My heroic man deserves more dignity than that…..and frankly, if this happens like this (not saying it will), I will never be able to look at Rumbelle and not think that Belle is kissing or making love to a dead man, someone who shouldn’t be walking around.
I don’t think he needs to have actually died for the sacrifice to have meant something……Wherever he was sent, I hope he’s alive and in decent condition (he deserves that much). If he’s injured, the thought of WW saving him and being looked at as a hero turns my stomach. I’m very nervous now about how this is going to play out.<[adrotate group="5"]March 12, 2014 at 6:13 pm #252424TheWatcherParticipantI agree. I think when it comes to death and love those are the two things that shouldn’t be able to be tampered or overridded with magic. If Rumpel really did kill himself in that sacrifice, then he should remain dead. However I dont think he’s dead, I didn’t see a body, so in my book he isn’t “dead” until proven otherwise 🙂 reanimating his body with the dagger COULD work but he would simply be a zombie. Not a living person. Like when Cora reawakened those guys she killed to attack Emma and Snow

Remember during season 2, A&E said that undoing doesn’t necessarily mean death, that is just how Rumple interpreted it. I think Rumple landed in Oz.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixMarch 12, 2014 at 7:07 pm #252435RumplesGirlKeymasterI agree. I don’t think he ever died really. But it doesn’t lessen his heroism at all! Because he went out there thinking he was going to die–the fact that he didn’t isn’t really his fault.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"March 12, 2014 at 7:32 pm #252441Jenna_BParticipant1) Dead is dead (A&E). So by their own rules, Rumple is NOT dead!
2) His living definitely doesn’t lessen his sacrifice. He killed – or attempted to kill – his father and himself. That’s HUGE…no matter how dysfunctional, a child loves their parent, even one that’s as wretched as Malcolm/Pan. And Rumple showed that he still loved his father, just moments before, in his shop. But he was willing to kill the man to save Belle, Bae, and the entire town.
Sacrifice doesn’t need to mean death, it could mean any number of things, especially for Rumple. To be powerless, after being the Dark One for so long, would be a fate WORSE than death for Rumple. So maybe he’s completely lost his powers, or maybe he’s being controlled by the WW and needs to be saved…but I definitely do not think we need to worry about Walking Dead Rumple. 🙂

I agree just because you sacrifice yourself it doesn’t lessen the sacrifice if you find out you’r alive if you didn’t plan on it. It still counts. Like um…hmm…I guess the best example is The Doctor from Doctor Who. Look at how many times he “Sacrifices” himself only be regenerated but not expecting it. I think that happened in the Episode “Name of The Doctor” not sure…RG help me out here?

In case it’s unclear, I in no way implied that Gold’s sacrifice was less because he’s probably not dead (which I said, above, but I wanted to be clear about that ) but:
1) Eddy said that Gold was dead – though granted, he followed it up by saying that we saw him stab himself, implying that “well, he has to be dead, doesn’t he?”. He and Adam have also said that his sacrifice was real – which it was, dead or not.
2) If they wanted him to truly be dead and then revived, they could have just showed his body, so I’m sure that golden light of redemption indicated he was saved somehow
3) WW is in FTL, so I’m pretty sure he’s in FTL as well……but wherever he is, I posted this because Jen Morrison said that whoever makes him alive (or something like that) is going to be a hero. That implies that he’s dead. – or at least seriously injured.
I don’t want her saving him….and I don’t want him being grateful to her. If he has his memories (he has tricks up his sleeves), I want him to try and find his way back to Belle and Bae. This can’t be just about Belle fighting for him, Gold has to struggle and fight for her as well. If not, it will be a disappointing storyline
As to his being powerless, well Bobby said at CC that Gold would choose Belle over power anytime… I don’t think he wants to be cursed. He can still have magic, however, because he’s brilliant and he just knows how to use it – and he can use magic to protect himself and Belle, Bae……
I still need an explanation as to why Gold, if saved, didn’t just stay in SB. I guess the best explanation is that A/ E wanted to separate Rumbelle agian, lol. Why would his sacrifice lead him to being dumped in some land or FTL or wherever..?
I wonder if the dagger is in his chest……..or if it dropped by his side. I do think he’ll be controlled by WW, although if the cuff prevents magic, I’m not sure what good that will do. I guess WW will keep him imprisoned?
What I ALSO really want to know is this: Is she keeping Gold imprisoned in SB all the time – at least until 316 when she obviously makes herself known? If so, after that, is she still going to keep him imprisoned when he’s not being controlled? If so, then he and Belle won’t have any scenes together, which would crush me…..no Rumbelle for the entire season? Maybe Belle would figure out where he’s being held? She’s supposed to be using her brains and intelligence – it almost sounds like she’s going to be sleuthing, lol. I need Rumbelle to have scenes together…. A much earlier spoiler said that Rumbelle relationship would be explore “no matter what state it’s in”. Can’t we explore their relationship when they’re together? Adam also said that “And on the flip side, [where she is in the present] will reflect what you’re going to see us explore in the past” – so that indicates to me that she’ll be looking for Gold in both past/present.
Sorry I’m all over the place – I’m back to being worried now,lol
March 13, 2014 at 12:34 am #252524Marty McFlyParticipantbut even if he is dead and somehow comes back to life, like his spirit returning to his body somehow the way pan and Henry switched bodies, that’s ok because he’d be alive again… I don’t see how that would be like a walking dead if he’s back alive, he’s back alive.
