ABC’s Once Upon a Time (airing Sundays at 8/7c) kicked off the back half of Season 3 with some answers — including how quickly Emma will get her memories back, and Regina’s first impression of her soul mate — while conjuring many new questions, most of which are centered around the mysterious curse that returned many to Storybrooke with no memory of their year in the Enchanted Forest.
Between TVLine’s visit with some of the show’s cast in Vancouver and a recent press event with series cocreators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, we rounded up some answers to several burning Qs. (And of course, any other questions you have can be directed to me via [email protected].)1. HOW DID HOOK MANAGE TO CROSS REALMS? WHO SENT HIM THE MESSAGE THAT EMMA’S FAMILY WAS IN TROUBLE? AND WHO SUPPLIED THE MEMORY POTION?
At the time I spoke to Colin O’Donoghue on set (during the filming of Episode 18), he said those mysteries had yet to be addressed. But before Season 3 closes, an entire episode will solve those riddles and more — including the possibility that whomever cast the new curse wanted the pirate to seek out Emma. “It could be a trap,” Eddy Kitsis allows. “[The message] could also have been sent from somebody different than who he thought.”2.ARE PEOPLE FREAKED ABOUT THEIR ‘LOST’ YEAR?
Though the Charmings relayed the intel on their selective amnesia somewhat matter-of-factly to Emma, rest assured, “They’re totally alarmed by it,” Josh Dallas reports. The Charmings will set out to spread the word of Emma’s return and take stock of who’s around in town (and who isn’t), before diving into the mystery of who’s behind their mysterious fate. “It’s like a game of Clue for a while – like, ‘It was Mr. Plum in the library with the candlestick,'” Jennifer Morrison offers. “Everybody is trying to piece together who was where with who and why, and whether this person is lying or that one.”3. NOW REUNITED WITH HER PARENTS IN STORYBROOKE, WILL EMMA ASK ABOUT NEAL ASAP?
“For sure,” says Jennifer Morrison. “No matter what, Neal is Henry’s father, and Emma wants her son to have a father in his life. So she is definitely concerned about whether he made it back to Storybrooke as well.”4. WHO ALL IS BACK IN STORYBROOKE?
We’ve thus far seen the Charmings, of course, and familiar faces such as Regina, Belle, Dr. Whale and Archie pop up in a sneak peek that’s out there. Most simply said, “Everyone who is not dead” was returned by the new curse,” Eddy Kitsis answers.5. WILL WE SEE WALSH AGAIN?
“Perhaps” is all that Kitsis and Horowitz will say about a possible encore by Covert Affairs regular Christopher Gorham as Emma’s high-flying almost-fiancé.6. WILL HENRY GET HIS MEMORY BACK ANYTIME SOON?
It doesn’t seem that way – if only because there is drama to be drummed up by having Regina lament their loss of that connection. “It will not be as simple as just someone concocting a potion,” says Adam Horowitz. “Henry had a pretty good year [in New York City], so that I think will be something that you’ll see really complicates things for everyone.”7. WILL WE SEE HENRY’S STORYBOOK AGAIN?
Though the mystery of who actually authored the very important tome won’t be solved this spring, Adam Horowitz says, “We are going to spend some more time with the storybook this season.”8. COULD THE NEW CHARMING BABY ALSO BE SPECIAL?
Similar to how Emma was fated to be the Savior? “Aren’t all babies special?” real-life mom-to-be Ginnifer Goodwin responds with a smile. Adds TV husband Josh Dallas: “We already gave birth to one Savior. Can we give birth to another? I don’t know. You’ll have to tune in!”9. WHAT’S REGINA’S READ ON THIS ROBIN HOOD GUY?
At first, “He almost goes unnoticed…. He really is the last thing on her mind,” says Lana Parrilla. After all, freshly stung by sacrificing Henry to a happy life in Our World, “[Flashback] Regina is looking to run – not necessarily from Robin but from everyone. She doesn’t want to feel emotions any longer.”10. WILL BELLE HAVE A STORY IN SEASON 3B?
Left behind in Storybrooke for the bulk of the Neverland arc, the beast’s beauty will figure into “a significant story that is launched by those scenes from the first episode that involves [her and] Neal” in Fairytale Land, says Adam Horowitz. In turn, “Belle’s role in Storybrooke in the present is going to reflect on what you see us explore in the past.” Adds Eddy Kitsis, “What we loved about the character [of Belle] was she was a bookworm who wanted to actually experience adventure… and this year you’re going to start seeing her kind of come into her own by using her brain. She’s going to be a hero that will reach for a book or use her intelligence more than a sword.”
11. WILL SEASON 3B LITERALLY BE OZ-SOME?
Noting that “the Wicked Witch is a big part of the second half and a driving force as an antagonist,” Eddy Kitsis allows, “We’ll spend a little bit of time [in Oz] but it’s not” — a la the Neverland arc — “an ‘everybody gets on a ship and goes there’ kind of thing.” (So in addition to flying Monkeys and incoming Glinda, there will be a Yellow Brick Road sighting.)12. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN EVIL MEETS WICKED?
As seen in this Sunday’s episode, when Regina comes face to face with she who has been eating her proverbial porridge, “She has no idea who [the Wicked Witch] is, and she is kind of surprised to see her in her castle — and wearing her clothes!” Parrilla previews with a hearty laugh. “It’s like, ‘Who are you, what the hell are you doing here?'” Parrilla does have some kind words for Regina’s new foe, though. “[Rebecca Mader] looks great green. She is stunning and beautiful as a green witch.13. WILL HOOK EVER CHANGE CLOTHES?
After all, Henry spoke for many by commenting on his “new” friend’s odd garb. “That is a question you have to ask Eddy and Adam, because they will not let Colin [O’Donoghue] change his clothes,” Jennifer Morrison shares with a laugh. Save for any flashback to his kinder, Killian days, “They are very confident that Colin needs to always be dressed as Hook,” she continues, “so we’ve decided that he’s really good at laundry.”[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"March 14, 2014 at 11:33 am #252873TheWatcherParticipantSo Regina doesn’t know the Witch? 2.ARE PEOPLE FREAKED ABOUT THEIR ‘LOST’ YEAR?

So she is definitely concerned about whether he made it back to Storybrooke as well.”Hope for SF! But, seriously, I think Emma was a great mother to Henry in the past year. She’s grown wiser and knows how to parent him, so I like the decisions she’s making.
4. WHO ALL IS BACK IN STORYBROOKE?
We’ve thus far seen the Charmings, of course, and familiar faces such as Regina, Belle, Dr. Whale and Archie pop up in a sneak peek that’s out there. Most simply said, “Everyone who is not dead” was returned by the new curse,” Eddy Kitsis answers.Does that include Philora?
5. WILL WE SEE WALSH AGAIN?

6. WILL HENRY GET HIS MEMORY BACK ANYTIME SOON?

7. WILL WE SEE HENRY’S STORYBOOK AGAIN?
Though the mystery of who actually authored the very important tome won’t be solved this spring, Adam Horowitz says, “We are going to spend some more time with the storybook this season.”
I want SOME answer to this question. At least HINT at the author or something.
You’ll have to tune in!”No special baby. No special baby. Have ONE normal child for once.
She doesn’t want to feel emotions any longer.”I’m excited by OQ interactions, as I want to see their relationship blossom.
10. This should make @betsypaige24 very, very happy. I’m hoping for Belle to read into the tales of Oz, learning the land through books, and knowing where to go to find our Rumple.
11. WILL SEASON 3B LITERALLY BE OZ-SOME?
Noting that “the Wicked Witch is a big part of the second half and a driving force as an antagonist,” Eddy Kitsis allows, “We’ll spend a little bit of time [in Oz] but it’s not” — a la the Neverland arc — “an ‘everybody gets on a ship and goes there’ kind of thing.” (So in addition to flying Monkeys and incoming Glinda, there will be a Yellow Brick Road sighting.)Oz! Oz! Oz!
12. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN EVIL MEETS WICKED?

She is stunning and beautiful as a green witch. So, I guess the comment of “You should’ve stayed in Oz” to Zelena is based off of Regina’s knowledge from the real world? Anywho, I’m REALLY looking forward to the new battle. She’s really going to be a formidable villain, one that I’m looking forward to.
Save for any flashback to his kinder, Killian days, “They are very confident that Colin needs to always be dressed as Hook,” she continues, “so we’ve decided that he’s really good at laundry.”And that, my friends, goes our hope of seeing Hook in OTHER DANG CLOTHES.

Time to hide your crazy, and start acting like a lady.

If those questions aren’t addressed before 18 (including Hook’s centric in 317) then doesn’t this mean that Blackbeard had nothing to do with the message or getting Hook out of the EF?

I think he meant the mysteries had yet to be addressed in an episode which has aired. I think the episode which will explore them will be 3×17 — Hook’s character-centric episode.

March 14, 2014 at 2:02 pm #252919betsypaige24ParticipantCorbin, yeah! All of these are not new thanks to the spoilers that have been posted since the screening, but I’m always ok with reading them over and over, lol
re: Belle’s storyline:
I’m really intrigued by the idea that her storyline in SB reflects what we see in the past. I think that must mean that once she sees Gold is alive (316), and presuming that he is generally imprisoned when not around WW, she’s going to figure out that he’s been imprisoned and do some sleuthing. Belle will use her brains and books to figure out where he might be kept…….at least that’s what makes sense to me.
I wonder if she’ll find him in FTL
I’m glad they appreciate in our beauty what we fans do.. She’s going to be a hero!
Please please let her break the curse – I’m done with the curse and I NEED TLK.
Awww, Neal and Belle!
Oh and I like that everyone is going to be freaked and want to figure out why they lost a year of their lives…I love that there’s a mystery going on – and I think Belle will be our beautiful detective.
