“The Tower” – While Emma, David, Regina and Hook continue their search for the Wicked Witch, she, in turn, is planning a dark surprise for David, and Zelena’s prisoner is powerless under her watch as she plots her next course of action against the townspeople. Meanwhile, in the Fairy Tale Land that was in the previous year, Prince Charming stumbles upon Rapunzel, who is trapped inside a tower, and must help her confront her fears in order for her to be free, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, MARCH 23 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
“Once Upon a Time” stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as the Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Colin O’Donoghue as Hook, Michael Raymond-James as Baelfire/Neal Cassidy, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.
Guest starring are Raphael Sbarge as Archie Hopper/Jiminy Cricket, Rebecca Mader as Zelena, Sean Maguire as Robin Hood and Alexandra Metz as Rapunzel.

Maybe it is payback for David helping Rapunzel to escape from the tower during the missing year. I think Rapunzel was a prisoner of the Wicked Witch, but the mystery of why Zelena would be interested in Rapunzel is what I want to know.
Guest starring are Raphael Sbarge as Archie Hopper/Jiminy Cricket, Rebecca Mader as Zelena, Sean Maguire as Robin Hood and Alexandra Metz as Rapunzel.
No dwarfs or Granny, but Archie is present, either in SB or FTL, or perhaps both. Interesting. Alexandra Metz looks beautiful as Rapunzel. I noticed a strange absence of a mystery man we all assumed would be Rapunzel’s father. What’s his name again? He was reported as being on set when 3×14 was being filmed. Maybe he is unlisted because he is the hooded figure, too.

I think that is why they left him off too. We do know that an African American male was filming with Metz and it makes sense for him to be her father.

Maaaaaaaybe. But I’m sorta liking my theory that Rapuznel’s father locked her up in order to avoid losing her and that this will mirror Charming’s fear over loosing Emma to marriage and loosing his new baby.

Why just a dark surprise for David?
I wonder if David’s father is her father too? After all King George made a comment in the mines about David’s family. Or perhaps tries to steal David away from Snow?
I’m starting to think the dark surprise for Charming may be the dark hallucinations of his mind: he must face his fear about losing Emma and possibly his second child. Hence, the odd images of spinning mobile, the spinning dolls, losing adult Emma through the magic wardrobe, and the what-might-have-beens of dancing with Princess Emma at her first ball; perhaps these are all part of Charming’s darkest fears.
I just double checked an earlier post and Alexandra Menz did indeed film with Everick Golding. Phee guessed he is playing Alexandra’s father. RG has suggested he is the one who is the hooded figure and keeping his daughter locked in the tower. Maybe Zelena cursed him to hold his own child captive after he tried unsuccessfully to free her.

The Rapunzel bit takes place during the lost year hmmm, interesting. At least that helps narrow down the possibilities of who the hooded figure is. Makes more sense now that its Zelena or a narrower chance of it being Rumple doing her bidding. Of all the main characters David is one who comparatively speaking we know about only in broad strokes. Looking forward to some insight into his character, beyond being the archetypal model hero.
