OK, so I know this is debated in threads in the last episode too, but then I dismissed it. Wicked Sisters made sense, especially given the Rose McGowan birth photo
But seeing in The Tower how easily Zelena conveniently obtained some of Rumple’s blood and then used it to get into his safe to get night root…. now I’m wondering what this universe’s rules of blood magic are. Surely blood magic should be simpler than just put said blood on magical item and whazam. Right??
And if it’s not….??? Then can we still assume that Zelena was telling the truth when she claimed to be Regina’s sister?
FWIW: I still think she is Cora’s first born child, but the use of Rumple’s physical blood (apart from providing a deeply creepy and awesome scene between Wicked Witch and Rumplestiltskin) makes me wonder. That was too easy.
Now… side note. The other thing we got out of the shaving scene, apart from me wondering whether she could surely have found an easily blade to shave with than something that curved (!!), was that her father (bio or foster?) was a boozer and/or drug/magic* user. Something that would leave him “jonesing” and shaking too much to shave, so she had to shave him. I think the fact she’s telling Rumple this story surely rules out him for the green paternity issue (apart from all the other reasons discussed ad nauseum in other threads). So who does that leave? The Wizard of Oz? Someone new? Or someone old? Who else do we know who is as close to an obviously rampant alcoholic as they’ve shown on Once? Malcolm.
But then she’d be Rumple’s sister as well as Regina’s and that’s just…. weird. That means that Malcom in Peter Pan form would’ve had to impregnate Cora (because Rumple had already been Dark One, and Malcolm had already been Pan, for hundreds of years by the time Cora was around) I don’t think Once would go down that path, although I would love to have Robbie Kay back!
* I say drugs or magic because there have been allusions before to magic being a habit that’s hard to shake, much like methamphetamine or heroin. The drug allusion is a nifty storytelling device in a show like this – explains why someone like Regina or Rumple, so used to having this crutch to get by with, find it so hard to operate without magic. Much like a junkie or a hardcore alco, they physically depend on magic – it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Zelena’s father (or father figure) was jonesing for magic as much as for another drink or something harder.

and someone did say that ouat is creepily bordering on incest
unless… Cora’s father raised Zelena after she dumped her? so Cora’s father was Zelena’s adoptive father?
OR was Zelena really CORA’s sister? noah… it’s too good that she is Regina’s sister…
so did Cora hook up with a drunkard who was just like her father? likely… after all, Rumpel married a girl who was just like HIS father…or like you say, it can be magic… Malcolm traded his beloved son for a chance to “get high” (literally) and convinced himself that he never even loved him in the first place (something an abuser would do), maybe magic is really that addicting

Magic always comes with a price, so I pay with visa.
