I’ve seen people posting about how the show is no longer about hope and happy endings and basically the rest of Neal’s family should end up dying because they can’t have their happy ending with Neal gone and I just wanted to vent.
It’s depressing to read how all the other characters should die horribly and not get their happy endings, just because Neal is dead. The show doesn’t revolve around Neal. Yes it was a shame Neal died and in the way he did, and it would be fair to say that nobody wanted Neal to die, because he did deserve his happy ending, but I disagree with saying that the show is no longer about hope and happy endings.
Nobody is judging the Neal fans. But it is so depressing to read about how all the characters should die horribly and not get happy endings because Neal died and happy endings died with him etc.

Not once have I ever said anything that you are claiming the “Neal fans” are saying.
You coloring us all as people who now wish horrible endings on everyone simply because “Neal died.”
I am so tired of repeating myself. And I know everyone is too.
YES. We are VERY upset that Neal died. But we are MORE upset at the way it was handled. This isn’t about our favorite character dying or even our ship. It’s about how it was done. We recognize it’s an ensemble show. We recognize that he is one of many. Again, this is about the way it was DONE. We’ve been saying all along, if he had actually gone out like Neal really would have done (non OOC) then we probably wouldn’t be THIS upset.
And further, I am *allowed* to feel as bad about this as I want. My emotions are not at the discretion of this forum. I have deeply personal reasons (beyond the death of my own father) for why this hit me so hard. My emotions are not for anyone else to decide. They have remained here, in this safe haven of a shipping thread. I do not present them to the rest of the forum, where they are clearly not welcome. Here I am among friends. They get me, so here I stay to feel what I feel.
