huh- the quote button really isnt working is it!
This time around I think they just figured out the only way to get back to Emma was to curse everyone again by sending them back to SB just like before but missing only their memories of the past year – that isn’t the Dark Curse. In that case I don’t see why you would need an actual human heart to cast the curse but if you had to sacrifice the THING you loved most Hook would be perfect because of the Jolly Roger. Maybe it’s just some kind of major sacrifice that is required.
I understand what you are saying (&I personally like the idea), but that just brings us back to the point of Rumple would have simply cast ‘this’ curse if it was that simple- as he himself would remember & be able to leave town, without having to rely on Regina (whom lets face it, wasnt exactly reliable- Rumple had to keep prompting her every step of the way to get her to cast it & then to get her to ‘not’ destroy his plans once Emma showed, if he didnt have to take that risk, I seriously dont think he would have- it’s not like him to add an unstable variable to his supposedly well laid plans just for a giggle 😉 ). I remember Rumple having some dialog (I think last season) to the effect of ‘the curse was the only way he had left to come to ‘our’ world/LWM & he couldnt cast it himself, as the ‘thing’ he loved most was already here(Baelfire)’ & thats why he had to get Regina to cast it- the price of casting a ‘transportation’ curse to a ‘land without magic’ was too high.
At this point I think the memories & who comes along is entirely up to the caster (based on the rules/ in show dialog we already have. Ie Regina choosing who comes & doesnt, the fact Rumple was able to remember everything once he heard Emma’s name, the fact Regina was surprised at how meek Snow was, but not surprised she didnt seem to know her), Time being at a stand still & the town hidden.
I agree that curse 2.0 isnt exactly the same as curse 1.0, but I think that has more to do with the fact that the things required to make the curse impossible for Regina to resist casting it in the 1st place, have been excluded- so no one lives miserable lives/they remember who they are (since that isnt required as incentive for Regina), time doesnt stand still (again for Regina’s benefit in seeking her revenge) etc. but they still dont remember what happened for the yr they were in EF, so logically the ‘missing time’ element has to be up to the castor & why would Snowing cast a curse & choose to not remember the missing yr?- seems a very convoluted way to get back to SB with someone whom wants to do something nasty to your unborn child in tow IMO :/
Ugh, I wish we had more info, then wouldnt be all speculation on whats happened *sigh* Should only be 1 more day & we’ll have some sneak peek/s to gather info from (I hope!) 😉 But either way we are pretty much certain that Killy plays a pivotal part in getting to our land again (Yes it is simple speculation on our/CS’ers part, but I doubt we’ll wrong or far off the mark here this time), it’s just the finer details of this area which are a hard to work out (the how, since we all know the why & when) :/
