And then Regina (and Snow) thinking there was darkness in Eva’s past? Because she told a prince that a peasant was pregnant and trying to manipulate him? What sort of warped twisted interpretation is that? By the writers no less? That’s disgusting.
I have to agree with this take on 3×18. Perhaps Eva’s intentions were to prevent Leopold from marrying Cora, but she did tell the man she’d been betrothed to the truth, which is something I doubt Cora would’ve done. Perhaps Eva was selfish in wanting to protect her own position as queen, but she was correct to let Leopold know what sort of woman he was really dealing with. Cora was shown to be a gold-digging social climber who only said yes to Jonathan’s fake proposal because she thought he was royalty. Cora then tried to entrap Jonathan by conceiving his child when she thought he might not marry her. After Jonathan let it be known he was the gardner, Cora accused him of taking her virtue, even though it was she who made the offer to let him spend the night. Also, Cora didn’t love Leopold; she merely loved his crown, and she was lying to him and would later try to pass off Zelena as Leopold’s child, which is just wrong any way you look at it. Maybe Cora would’ve eventually come clean to Leopold, after they were safely married, but I doubt it seeing as Cora was never a beacon of truth. At least Eva was honest. It’s not like she was condemning an innocent woman, since Cora was the one manipulating Leopold.
