Hey. Before things start getting crazy at my house for Mother’s Day, I wanted to pop in and say hello, and likely, goodbye. I’ve always hated “goodbye cruel forum” posts, but this isn’t really one of those. Perhaps a “goodbye cruel show” post.
Just wanted to say I’ve appreciated having this thread as a haven and place to sound off. 🙂 You’re amazing, creative and talented people, and I’ve enjoyed “talking” to you immensely. And I wish you all the best.
I’m not planning to watch tonight, although I’m going to keep an eye on spoilers, etc., on the miniscule chance we have a miracle. I’m not expecting one. (Sorry, Capt. Kirk. This communications officer has abandoned the Bridge of Optimism.) I’ve barely been able to look at the forum all week. The show I enjoyed so much has become something that gives me a stomachache. Isn’t that sad? So I sincerely doubt I’ll be back. This is no longer a story I want to see.
And, yes, I consider CS positively repugnant. Colin may be a nice fellow (I’ve never heard otherwise), but this whole story (as they’re telling it now) reeks of the triumph of style over substance, and I’ve never been able to stomach that. And there’s a particularly nasty message there I know many of you see too.
I’m still SF all the way. I just see too many places that story was being built … until, suddenly, it wasn’t. And no one will ever convince me it wasn’t due to either MRJ asking to get out (which he says he didn’t do) or CS whiners. (I know that term is not particularly polite. I do not particularly care.)
And so, best wishes to you all. It really has been fun.
Be well.
