I can do nothing but agree with you DSB. I guess they might not have given Hook Neal’s story literally, they obviously tweaked it to make it fit for Hook. Fact remains this journey was meant for Swanfire. That dance in FTL, her first ball, the kiss at the end, all the speeches about love and family and home. Who else but Neal could make her realise all those things? Well, Captain Hook apparently…

Actually I take that back, it was STILL Neal who made her realise it, because she was reminded of their conversation in the flashback. HIS words were what eventually hit home.

Why put so much thought and care into a story you killed episodes ago, guys? Why?

I’m starting to think it’s because maybe, just maybe, A&E are sad too about having to give up their own original, self created character and love story. If all of this is indeed an ABC driven decision. Perhaps it’s their own way of coping with the fact that they had to get rid of Neal. Send us a message that this is what they intended to do; create a happy ending for Emma and Neal. By indeed showing what could have been (and most likely would have been) had they not been forced to give up on that direction.
