ParticipantI wonder how many of you long before OUAT was a twinkle in A&E’s eyes, saw the mini-series the 10th Kingdom? I did a rewatch recently and saw so many similarities in its spin on fairy tales nearly a decade before OUAT, Enchanted, Maleficent, etc. (http://www.hulu.com/tenth-kingdom)

ParticipantI watched it and loved it. I had even bought the book, the videos and the soundtrack. I wish it turned into a series.
Nothing is impossible on OUAT. Everything has a way of repeating itself. Keeper of the Keeper tread: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/topic/official-keeper-thread-3/#post-217924

ParticipantSo I just googled this and it looks really interesting 🙂 I shall give this a shot. I’ve been watching other things to try and make the break go by faster (*cough* You guys should watch Mako Island of Secrets/Mako Mermaids. I just binged on the first season now I’m waiting obsessively for the second) So I’m open to new shows and things to keep me occupied and not running down the street digging for magic beans or running into every pawn shop yelling “Where is Mr. Gold??”

ParticipantYes! I was in college when 10th Kingdom aired and didn’t have a tv in my room at the time, so I’d watch it in the usually empty study lounge on our hall. I loved it. I recently found the whole series on dvd at Target for only $5 and was really excited. I’d forgotten how campy it was though. I was showing it to my husband- who does watch OuaT with me- and he wasn’t crazy about it, but I still think it’s great fun.

ParticipantIt sounds like a pretty neat show!! I’ll have to give it a try.
On this other show called Witches of East End, there’s a character named Killian. I found it particularly interesting because well, how many Killians do you know? 😀

Participant@ Hook’s Girl:  OMG – me too!  I had the VHS, the soundtrack, the book, and later on the DVD.  Recently I got the iTunes digital version 🙂

ParticipantI kinda saw a bit of 10th Kingdom. I liked the plus size Snow White.
Desperately looking for some Fairy Taley with queer characters in it. Lost Girl is kind of closest.

ParticipantActually, ABC did this this whole premise way back in 1987….sorta.

Funny series, only lasted 2 short seasons but needs a DVD release! Kitsis & Horowitz have referenced it before in interviews.
