Once Upon a Time is going to give us some dirt on Belle’s past next season.

That means as we learn Belle’s history before meeting new hubby Rumplestiltskin, we’re finally going to find out who Sir Maurice was married to.Who should play Belle’s mom in the upcoming fourth season of the ABC fairy tale drama? Lucy Lawless is our dream choice, though she hasn’t actually been cast. The Xena alum looks similar enough to Emilie de Ravin, and she’ll be guest-starring on another ABC drama this fall when she appears as Isabelle Hartley on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. If not Lawless, who do you think should play Belle’s mother?

LOL
Anyway, I’m glad they’re finally gonna tell that story of Belle’s life before she ever knew Rumple.
I’m curious how far back we’ll see into Belle’s past. Okay, we’re going to meet Belle’s mother finally but are we also going to meet a younger Belle too?
I think it would be more interesting to see what Belle was like as a child or pre-teen, which if we’re heading in that direction, probably cast an actress in her forties for Belle’s mother.
After reading about this, I googled soap actress Finnola Hughes. She’s not in her forties but with the right make-up, she looks like she could be.

Alright, they share blue eyes, their facial structures are close enough for mother and daughter. Haven’t seen that kind of skeptical frown though Lucy is so capable of on Emilie’s face, so think the facial expressions are somewhat different.
But sorry, no. Call it lack of imagination but can’t see Lucy on it, and most certainly not as Belle’s mother. Unless maybe they allow Belle’s mother to be some pushy, selfish woman with some style. Lucy can play sweet but she’s not much of a sweetheart material. I can’t remember what they did in the movie, remember only vaguely that Belle’s father was more of a nice guy, but was there even a mother and the sisters? There are sister mentioned in the tale , who treat Belle like a servant, but don’t think there was much talk of a mother either.
Now if this show would finally decide to simply go more camp and take itself a lot less serious, then it could be fun, and Lucy could show her comedic side.
Care little about more story for Belle though, so whatever.

It will be great to see more about Belle’s family.
Am I wrong or will Belle’s mother appear in the same episode Zoso is suppose to appear in? How does it all connect?

The article doesn’t say which episode she’ll appear in.
Most likely it is not episode 4 (with Zozo) because that is already underway. Casting calls are typically given an episode or two in advance. So Belle’s mother will probably be in episode 5 or 6ish.
